Treat yourself to a break in our high-quality holiday flat in Stora Frö on the sunny island of Öland. Perfectly furnished for up to 4 people, this flat offers the ideal retreat for couples and young families who want to discover the beauty of Öland and southern Sweden. Here you will find peace and comfort in the midst of beautiful nature, which has a beneficial effect on body, mind and psyche. The flat is located in the attic of the former village shop. The intermediate floor has been removed so that you can look up to the gables with open beams - this results in an open loft-like room with 80 square metres of living space and even more floor space. The bathroom is located in the spacious entrance area one floor below and is conveniently separated from the living room and bedroom. The rest of the lower floor (shop) is not used, so you have the entire building to yourself.
Inside, you will find well thought-out furnishings to make your stay as pleasant as possible. The holiday flat is equipped with air conditioning and electric heating to ensure a pleasant temperature all year round. The kitchen is fully equipped to a high standard with a dishwasher, kettle, various coffee makers and good knives - discerning gourmets can realise their full potential here and cook with fresh local ingredients. A Smart TV is available for entertainment if you want to enjoy your favourite series while enjoying the beauty of the surroundings.
The outside area of the flat promises pure relaxation. The large balcony faces south into a wide open sky and also gets plenty of light from the east (morning sun) and west (sunset). In the garden there is a terrace by the house for relaxing in the shade or socialising in the open air. In addition, the property is almost completely fenced in and surrounded by hedges, which offers extra privacy and security. There is a car park right next to the house.
The surroundings of Stora Frö offer a picturesque backdrop for your stay. The location in the centre of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Southern Öland invites you to enjoy numerous outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling and walking. The quietly located holiday flat is just 800 metres from the beach, where you will find Öland's windsurfing centre and kitesurfing courses in addition to the bathing bridge. There are two good restaurants within walking distance, one with stone-oven pizza and the other with yoga and wellness facilities.
Towards the south, the beach merges into a cliff covered with tall pine trees, along which you can walk to the artists' village of Mörbylanga, 7 kilometres away, with its cafés, restaurants and studios, offering wonderful views across the Kalmar Sound. In our neighbouring village of Vickleby is the renowned Capellagarden School of Arts and Crafts, founded by the famous Swedish designer Carl Malmsten. You can admire the students' work in the gallery and the café located in the plant school is a dreamy, idyllic place: you are surrounded by flowers and a variety of plants, some of which are indigenous, all of which you can also buy. Thanks to its proximity to Kalmar and Borgholm, our "Öland Idyll" is the perfect starting point for exploring southern Sweden with its glass-blowing kingdom, Astrid Lindgren's villages and impressive historic towns such as Karlskrona and Kalmar, while at the same time providing a relaxing retreat.
