We had a great experience staying in Kihei Surfside #313.
The unit is very nice. It has a big, spacious, kitchen/dining/living area with beautiful views of the ocean and the West Maui Mountains. The kitchen is very well stocked with dishes, pots, pans, etc- anything you might need. Not only do they have a good selection of wine and cocktail glasses, they have an extra set made of plastic so that they are allowed at the pool.
The room has great ventilation so if you open the bedroom windows and the doors to the lanai you get a good cross-breeze going and it cools the room down nicely.
The unit is in a fantastic location. It is set back from the pool and main walking area so you don’t have to deal with that noise, but still situated close enough to the shore and high enough that you get great views.
The complex has a nice pool and bbq area, and access to beach chairs that you can set up on the edge of the property to enjoy the waves and island breezes. We relaxed and watched sea turtles, whales, and dolphins as we relaxed on the grassy knoll.
The owner of this unit communicates well and was very responsive. On one of our first nights here we had an issue that required us to call the after-hours emergency number (locked out of the unit)… somebody showed up to help us in (no exaggeration) under five minutes. That’s how quick they responded to our call for assistance. Five minutes! The girl who came to help us was super friendly and helpful.
The unit is located a short drive from restaurants and shops in both Walea and Kihei. Probably a five minute drive from anything you may need. We usually walked to Kihei or Walea which took us more like 40 min and was a nice walk, but if you don’t have the time or energy for a walk, the drive is very short.
We highly recommend staying at this unit and we hope to be back soon ourselves.
