Great stay @ Olive's Gate! Comfortable, clean studio & lovely garden space. Clear communication regarding logistics. Chez, the host, also graciously helped us with a request. For this SF trip we decided not to rent car. Restaurants and Whole Foods are close by. It was easy to use BART & MUNI to traverse the city & travel to/from airport. (Get Senior Clipper card ahead of trip fares are 62.5% less!) Enjoyed attractions in Golden Gate Park, (deYoung Museum, Japanese Tea Garden, botanical garden & Stowe Lake) but the highlight was the SF Love Tour in a 60's VW Van, SO fun! We would definitely stay at Olive's Gate again in the future.

This is a beautiful apartment located at owner’s home. Located in a nice area of San Francisco. My only difficulty was checking in, because at 72 old eyes only see things marked with good lighting. One of the cleanest and nicest rentals that I have visited.

Olive’s Gate is a very nice private space. Beautiful garden. Privacy fence. Walkable neighborhood.We have stayed here previously. Hopefully we will get a chance to stay here again. The shower is awesome. The living space is very clean. Communication with our host has always been very pleasant. It was great to be able to do laundry, very good machines.

This is a great property, well located, with all the amenities we needed. We had some difficulty connecting to the wifi, but that may have been a problem on our end. I would definitely recommend this property to others!

All you need!

Located in Noe Valley, this studio apartment has all you need for a comfortable stay if you can remain stable amongst the steep hills of San Francisco! The entry instructions seemed a bit difficult, but turned out to be quite easy. There are good cooking facilities if you choose to prepare meals amongst the wealth of eating facilities in San Francisco. The shower has been commented upon by others. Simply put, it is the best we have ever experienced (and we're 84 years old!). The apartment was well cleaned and the linens first rate. There is an excellent washer and dryer which adjoins the apartment and we used it several times during our three week stay. There is excellent public transportation to downtown a block away, and for a relatively modest fee you can get a residential parking permit for a car. It would have been helpful to have the outside garden area tidied up, but we were out and about San Francisco most of the time. All in all, the apartment had everything we needed.

Exceptional Apartment and Host

This trip exceeded my expectations primarily due to the exceptional accommodations and the super host. The apartment is fantastic and very well-furnished. Its location provides great access to the city's transportation system (stops are one block both ways). Restaurants, shops, and a Whole Foods are within blocks. I'd live in this unit if I could. I'll definitely be returning. Thank you, Chez, for a memorable visit.

Absolutely wonderful property!! Houston responded quickly and was extremely helpful. We would highly recommend this property if you are looking for a nice, quiet place to stay that is just a short uber ride away from most of the tourist attractions.

Incredible, Hidden Gem

My partner and I found this listing after combing through space after space that was over priced, undersized and under-furnished. None of this was the case with Olive’s Gate. The location was incredible, and Chez did such a great job creating a private, home-y space in the heart of a busy city. It was an absolute pleasure staying here.

Cozy apartment

Overall, this was 4 & 1/2 stars. The entrance gate was unusable due to the wooden gate/door being swollen from the recent rain. We were provided with a garage door opener that allowed us to access the apartment. It was just perfect for our needs.

I have lived in Noe Valley for decades and have watched it blossom into a vibrant, friendly neighborhood. I love it in Noe for the warmer climate and the ability to walk to many things from here. The neighborhood gives me a sense of community which is important to me.

When I bought this property it was run down and in a good location. There are vistas, city sized gardens and the ability to spend time outside. These seem like luxuries in a city but are prized by me.
