Immerse yourself in the region’s history and visit the medieval castle of Banyeres de Mariola or the modernist quarter of Alcoy. A trip to Bocairent, one of Spain’s most beautiful villages, is well worth it, as is sampling the regional cuisine, which combines Mediterranean flavours with hearty mountain specialities.
