Welcome to the Old Rectory in Wahmbeck—a place where tranquility, history, and nature come together.

Experience peace and relaxation away from the hustle and bustle of the city in our vacation apartments at the Old Rectory in Wahmbeck. Enjoy the idyllic location right on the Weser River, next to the small village church and the Gierseil ferry.

The vacation rental is located in a lovingly preserved parsonage directly across from the church in the small Weser village of Wahmbeck. From the garden and terrace, the view sweeps across the Weser River and the rolling hills of the Weserbergland. Here you can unwind, watch birds, read a book, or simply enjoy the special atmosphere of this historic place.

The accommodations are ideal for couples, families, cyclists, and hikers looking for a relaxing getaway in nature. Popular biking and hiking trails along the Weser run right past the front door. The Lippoldsberg Abbey Church, one of the most significant Romanesque structures in northern Germany, is just a few minutes away.

The surrounding area also offers numerous excursion options: Discover the Baroque town of Bad Karlshafen with its harbor basin and the Weser Skywalk, go hiking in the Solling Mountains, or explore the historic half-timbered towns of Hann. Münden, Höxter, and Uslar.

The Old Parsonage is much more than a holiday home to us – it is a family home filled with memories.

Our mother, Ute, purchased the property in 2004 and lovingly restored it. She furnished it with great care, personal taste and attention to detail. Originally, the apartment was intended as a place where her children and grandchildren could gather, spend holidays together and create lasting memories.

That is why guests will find more than just furniture here. The books on the shelves, the board games, many of the decorations and even some of the toys were part of our family’s life for many years. The house has retained its warm and welcoming character.

After our mother passed away in 2023, we faced a difficult decision. As her children now live in different parts of Germany, we chose to preserve this special place and share it with others. By opening the Old Parsonage to guests, we hope that more people can experience the warmth, hospitality and sense of home that made “Grandma Ute” so special.

Wahmbeck is a peaceful village on the banks of the River Weser, surrounded by forests, rolling hills and beautiful countryside. What we love most is its sense of calm and authenticity.

From the house, guests can enjoy views of the Weser, take walks along the river, cycle on the Weser Cycle Route or explore the nearby Solling forest. Historic towns such as Bad Karlshafen and Hann. Münden, as well as the famous monastery church in Lippoldsberg, are all within easy reach.

Life here moves at a gentler pace. Whether you are looking for outdoor activities, cultural excursions or simply a quiet place to relax, Wahmbeck offers a genuine experience of rural Germany.

The Old Parsonage combines historic charm, family history and a unique location.

Situated directly opposite the village church, the house offers a large garden with views of the River Weser and plenty of space to relax. Guests can enjoy breakfast outdoors, spend long summer evenings in the garden or simply listen to the church bells and birdsong.

Unlike many holiday rentals, this is not a property furnished solely for tourism. It remains a genuine family home, filled with books, games and personal touches collected over many years. Many guests tell us that this atmosphere makes them feel welcome from the moment they arrive.

The combination of a historic parsonage, a beautiful riverside setting and the legacy of our mother Ute creates an experience that is difficult to find elsewhere.
