We stayed at the lakehouse for five nights. There are 6 of us, 2 adults and 4 kids under age 8. We have stayed at many VRBO places before and while not the most luxurious, this place was our favorite. It is very remote, but has a charming, tiny little shop/restaurant/espresso stand just 2 blocks away. The view from the cabin is worth the price on its own. The lake temperature is perfect for swimming all day and the lake itself looks and smells impeccably clean. The pictures cannot do it justice. The little lake is translucent up to about 10 feet, and you can see the turtles and crawdads and little fish scatter while you swim and boat. The beach is safe for children and the swimming dock is the perfect distance from shore. We stayed on mostly weekdays and really did have the whole lake to ourselves. We rented the paddle boat which meant the older kids could paddle around the whole lake on their own. This place is clean and spacious and extremely well appointed; I think the owners still stay there frequently, because there were a lot of little conveniences we aren't used to finding in a VRBO rental (flashlights, marshmallow sticks, firewood, flour, spices, etc). We had smores every night under a canopy of impressive stars, spent a full day at glacier and hiked all around Libby. The Hidden Lake hike at glacier was doable for the family, and the cedar grove walks (both in the Kootenai forest and at glacier) were like a huge playground for the kids. The Kootenai bridge and falls walk was also really fun. We caught crawdads and made a nice pasta dish with them. We tried to catch turtles (just to play with), but they were too fast...
The beds were comfortable and the place just feels perfect. Stacy, the owner was helpful throughout the rental and an absolute pleasure to deal with.
The only things to keep in mind are that the spacing on the deck is a bit wide for an infant (just had to keep an eye on her) and there is no dishwasher.
This place was absolutely wonderful, and we can't wait to come back.
