The unit had everything we needed. The kitchen was well stocked (actually a little too much in my opinion)Great location to the beach with food and drink sold at beach entrance. We found many businesses close by were not open. Great communication from host. Two minor issues were resolved quickly. The front office was very helpful and kind. The building is older. The stairway up to the unit could use updating. The back door was difficult to open but it was easier to use the front anyway. It was nice to just have a key code. It was great to have the pool which was kept clean.

Great location

Easy access to the beach and away from the main tourist strip where most of the hotels are. Walking distance to many restaurants and ice cream shops and not far away from marinas if you are wanting to do some water activities.

We have been on many family vacations, but I must say, the property, neighborhood and location were by far, the most relaxing of any other travels. Will probably be booking next year.

Great location!

The location is amazing. It is right across from the beach and walking distance to many delicious and fun restaurants to visit. This is the second time I have stayed in this complex. You can hear neighbors moving around at night. Not a big deal as it is so close to the many things we wanted to do while there.

Location, location, location

What a lovely retreat! Everything you need for a great stay, comfortable beds, the vanity outside the bathroom made all the difference with three girls getting ready, and fully stocked kitchen. Use the free beach ride app to get around, it's great. Weather was cold, but the place was wonderful. Complete shout out to Theresa in the office, she had good suggestions for everything, and took her time to help us in every way..we will be back, just when it's warner!

Worth it for the location

You cannot beat the location! It is right across the street from the beach and very convenient. This alone made our stay here worthwhile. Parking was easy, the pool was nice, and the condo had a prime location within the complex. The living room furniture is worn and in need of replacing, but the bedrooms were nice and had comfortable beds. I was disappointed to learn that the condo does NOT have a pack and play as advertised (I had to drive to 2 Walmarts at 10:30 p.m. to find and purchase one upon arrival). Other than that we experienced no issues during our stay.

Spring break stay

Overall we had a very nice stay but the check-in process was a little cumbersome with trying to find a lock-box with a code in it to get into our room, when checking in after “office hours.” Our check-in packet contained a code, not a physical key, so we were confused as to why that could not have just been emailed or texted to us? Also, within the packet of information, it would have been helpful if there was a parking map included, telling you where you are allowed to park. It might seem obvious to the property owner but it was not clear to someone who has never stayed there before. Other than those 2 issues we had a nice stay and appreciated the little extras, like chairs and a sun umbrella to use on the beach.

Great Unit for the Family

We have four children and although this is a two bedroom unit they have it set up so we all fit comfortably. There was a pack and play, high chair and toys available for our 18 month old. The whole unit is bright and clean. The kitchen is wonderful and had all the utensils and pans I needed to make several meals right there which I have found is a rarity in rentals. Also, it was not on the loud noisy street and right across from the beach which was great when putting the baby to bed early. The pool is nicely heated so it was a comfortable temperature everyday and the people who live in the complex year round were so nice. I would highly recommend this unit to anyone.

We have small children as well, so understand the piece of mind that comes with the basics already covered (pack n play, high chair, etc). We also love to cook so even though we're within walking distance from several great restaurant, we wanted to have plenty of utensils and supplies on hand. This unit is run down and priced well above others- which they can get

I like that this unit has the extra twin bunk in one of the rooms, however, the cleaning people either missed this unit all together or missed changing sheets on the beds. One set of sheets were disgusting - feeling gross from this, it caused us to scrutinize all other areas; dirty old carpet, old worn couch, the base of the bathroom door is warped. The front office offered clean sheets but in emailing the property managers, I never received a response or credit for cleaning fee. This unit was much more expensive than a similar more updated unit but given that there are few vacancies in St Pete, they are able to do it. I hope they can someday improve this unit. It could be great.

Thank you very much for your feedback. Obviously, it goes without saying that you should expect a clean unit and it is unacceptable that it wasn’t. I’ve checked with our property management company and they have no record of your email but I am personally refunding your cleaning fee. We actually just arrived at the unit - we always try to review the unit after long term winter guests and spring breakers - and were shocked at the carpet (which was replaced less than 2 years ago by the way)! Please know we ourselves deep cleaned the unit and the carpeting and sofa have been deep cleaned as well. Thank you again for your review and I am truly sorry for the inconvenience.

Newly Remodeled????

This condo is self-described as "newly remodeled" and "newly renovated" so we were surprised by the following: -doorknobs coming off in our hands when opening closets -sand in the beds, between the sheets -curtain rods falling easily when we attempted to gently close the blinds -several baskets in the kitchen with years-old food left to decay there -dirty and deflated couch in the main living area. The beach is across the street, and there is a pool within this complex that you have access to. Presumably this proximity is why the price per night is so high. But it bears mentioning for future guests that paying this price does *not* mean you won't be able to easily hear other renters and tenants in the condo above you and in the stairwell-you will. And it does not mean the condo is pristinely kept. We were further surprised that we were only provided with 1.5 rolls of toilet paper for two people, for four days. The beach was lovely.

Great, Good and Things to Improve

Great: The location, the beach, the pool, the view, restaurants within walking distance, beach bars are pretty darn close (just a short walk down the beach), the on-site property manager is a gem and the check-in was easy. Keypad entry is so nice. Beach towels included. Good: New flooring, counters, fresh paint and nice updates within the property, well-appointed place--had everything we needed, plenty of towels, hand towels, washcloths, etc., really appreciated cleaning supplies available to do clean ups if needed. Things to improve: Plates in the cabinets were not clean. Limited counter space and storage space. Old couch. We did see and kill one cockroach in the kitchen. We had to go to Home Depot to get spray and sticky traps. The host was very apologetic and messaged that it was a palmetto bug and they are very common. She indicated the building manager sprays every month. The host indicated they had a property directly below us that was empty that we could move to the next day. We did not move because honestly moving a floor below did not seem to assure us that it would be bug free. We believe an exterminator did come into the property the following day and spray but they did not leave anyway for us to know that. It would have been nice for them to refund one or two night's stay.

Average 2-bedroom unit but great location to the beach!

My husband and I know the area and Gulf Winds well, so my critique is an honest one having visited this area for over 30 years. The location of the unit and Gulf Winds cannot be beat with respect to proximity of the beach. But, the unit itself could really use a facelift and new appliances. The carpet is dated and worn, the furniture needs to be replaced, and the doors are all splintering from the bottom. You can't really open the windows to allow for the sea air at night, and the kitchen does not have a good flow to it. There were so many plastic bottles and containers. The a/c didn't work very well in the master bedroom (minimal air flow which required us to attempt to open the windows), and there were no towels available for use at the beach. Had I known this, I would have brought our own. Instead, we had to make a trip to Wings. The towels that were provided (a total of 6) were very thin and never dried, and I spoke to management about that upon checkout. I had to launder them myself, and those machines don't dry things either. There is no good place to dry anything either (even though you had an abundance of hooks). I understand this is a family unit, as evidence by the many photos hanging throughout the unit. But, it was very apparent that the monies received from rental income pay for the family world travel vacation fund and are not necessarily invested back into the unit. Suggestion: while the photos are beautiful, please consider removing them or make the necessary updates to the unit. Other Gulf Winds units have been updated. I think the description is a bit misleading......the updated kitchen looks nothing like mine at home.

I’m so sorry that you didn’t enjoy your 3-night stay at our unit. We literally just replaced the carpeting yesterday and had plans to continue our maintenance contract for multiple carpet cleanings each year but will now review the service. We provide lots of beach (plastic) cups for our guests’ enjoyment while at the pool or on the beach - it’s such a pain to have to buy disposable cups - but we also provide plenty of glasses and stemware for enjoying beverages in the condo. We checked the AC ourselves today in the master and the vent had been shut off to that bedroom so we opened it up and airflow is comfortable again. I absolutely will follow up with our linen service regarding the quality of towels as well as your suggestion to provide beach towels. We make updates to the unit at least 4 times each year and have replaced all of the furniture and appliances within the last 4 years. We very much value our guests feedback and appreciate your input. Thank you.

Labeled keys from other units are inside this unit. Listing was not correct. No place to put “your” groceries. Lots of kitchen appliances for your use. Beautiful view. Responsive host.

The condo was in a great location. It slept everyone very comfortably.

The place could be so much prettier if they do new flooring.. Get rid of carpet. Carpet is old. Kitchen was greasy. Everything -pan and cup needed to be washed before we used. Too many old appliances in kitchen like a bread maker and rice steamer. Don’t need all that. Toaster microwave and coffee pot and a blender is fgreat. each person had only 1 body towel. Need more bathroom towels. Need to have more beach towels too. A medium size cooler would be helpful for beach beverages . Having said that- it’s a great location. Close to pool beach. Had a beautiful view. Slept everyone comfortbly. We would stay there again. Just deep clean the kitchen. Get a new dw so It cleans better.

We just arrived at the unit - checking on things after back to back winter and spring break guests - and deep cleaned the unit ourselves (including carpeting - which is less than 2 years old - and couch). Also, the appliances have all been purchased after direct requests from guests - we do our utmost to take feedback seriously. And we’re in complete agreement - the location is amazing and we put a lot of effort into making sure the beds and pillows are all comfortable. Thank you again for your feedback!

Skip this condo

Paint is old and tired. WHITE base boards are dingy and dirty. Grout on floors is black in high traffic areas. Furniture is old and dirty. Living room blinds didn't work, neither did the Television. We blew bedroom fuse by plugging in fans. A cup of coffee in a ceramic mug and hot chocolate in a thermos mug were found in kitchen cupboard.. Several ice cube trays are broken.. Bathtub plunger did not work. Safety bar handrail grouting was full of black mold. Black mold on ceiling edge meets wall. Seniors living in complex dominated shallow end for water class during prime swimming hours when our two granddaughters could be swimming. (1PM-3PM) when most people are back from their am outings/tours. They also saved their tables and chairs early in the morning by leaving towels, mugs. Or shoes when they weren't using the pool area. Dining room ceiling fan was caked with dust. Bedroom doors were cracked and peeling. Silverware organizer was full of crumbs. Coffee table full of crumbs on edge of glass and wicker. 5 towels supplied for 5 people. No beach towels available in condo. Overall this condo gets a D for cleanliness.

We had hoped that through exchanging multiple messages throughout your stay, addressing 911 calls, issuing a discount, allowing you to keep the parking pass past checkout and discussing these issues by phone after your stay, we could have left you with a better experience. Please know we take these issues very seriously and have met with housekeeping services and the board to facilitate changes.

Good place to stay near the beach!

My friends and I really enjoyed the place we rented. There were a few pros and cons, but overall our experience was good. Pros: right in front of the beach Pros: AC - it’s a must Cons: Furniture is somewhat old. We definitely needed more trash bags, toilet paper. Advice for the owner - get new towels and newer fans.

Wonderful experience =)

This was an amazing experience. The apartment super clean, beds super comfy, communication was fantastic, lots of beach toys, play toys, the location near The beach is directly across the street which made it incredibly convenient in special with kids. The apartment have all the basics covered to make food , several towels so you didn't have to do laundry every day. We cannot recommend this enough. Thank you so much! Definitely looking forward to come back!

We loved being so close to the beach. They did have beach chairs & sand toys for the kids which was great. The condo met our expectations.

Perfect with Kids

We can't say enough positive remarks about the owner, unit and location. First of all, communication was fantastic. Next, do you have kids? Well this place was not only a perfect unit for kids (lots of beach toys, play toys, bunk beds, etc), but the location near the pool made it very accessible to pop in and out of the unit. The beach is directly across the street which made it incredibly convenient for playing in the sand with the family. My husband and I loved the little beach hut across the beach for happy hours and treats with the kids. They had live music several nights. The unit itself was very clean and newly remodeled. They had all the basics covered to make food in the unit, several towels so you didn't have to do laundry every day and very comfortable beds. We cannot recommend this unit enough!

Awesome!

Four of us stayed at this property for 5 nights and would highly recommend it to everyone! Cute beach-themed decor with many updates including flatscreen t.v.s, granite countertops and very spacious. Clean and comfy! A short walk to bars, restaraunts, ice cream, beach shops, etc. Overlooks pool and very close to the beach....Grab your towel and raft and go! We had an amazing time and can't wait to book this property for another memorable vacation!
