I don’t know how else to say it: arriving at Janet’s beautiful cottage felt like coming home. My family arrived later than we planned, but Janet stayed up late to meet us. The cottage was warmly lit and beautifully furnished. Everyone fell fast asleep in their fresh and cozy beds. In the morning, my husband drove 15 minutes into Kensington to Willow Bakery & Cafe for delicious baked goods and coffee. All the necessary amenities are within a few minutes’ drive, including grocery, take-out, and gas.
The location is great! We spent most of our stay exploring the various LM Montgomery heritage sites. That said, so many other outings are accessible from this lovely home! We saw three lighthouses and two beaches, including Cousins Shore Beach. We spent a day at Covehead Light and the adjoining beach, located in a national park.
Because of all the beach days, I was glad to have access to a washer and dryer. A fully equipped kitchen meant that my family could make light meals in the home. A large full bathroom was more than enough for my family’s purposes. The home also had board games, books, and a pair of terrific binoculars that we used on the second floor balcony to enjoy the view.
About the view: it is spectacular! The sunsets are colorful, the rolling countryside is so romantic, the moody ocean spreads along the horizon, and the hummingbirds simply adore the front porch. Some days it was hard to leave the house because it was peaceful and beautiful! Can’t wait to return!
