Host not truthful about the property

Three times in his posting of the property he indicated the property had a washer and dryer and after asking him about it 3 times he yelled at me and told me I had to go into town. It was indicated there were beautiful views from the where the only view was of a storage shed. It was indicated that it was a very short walk into town when it was at least a 25 minute walk to anything in town. It should have been indicated in the posting that you must have a car if your going to stay there. There is no taxi service in town. I was planning on staying one month but left after 13 days. It was just too remote and isolated. And of course he wouldn’t give me any refund for the 18 days I wasn’t there . The host’s father was a very nice man and would take me to the Coop for groceries and helped me get back to Florence.

Excellent séjour !

Le gîte est superbe, parfaitement situé à l'écart des grandes routes mais sur l’axe Florence-Sienne à 15 minutes de Florence. Au milieu des oliviers et des vignes, le gîte se trouve dans un magnifique bâtiment. Haut plafond, grande cheminée, décoré avec goût, terrasse et terrain.... Les propriétaires sont accueillants. Tout est réuni pour passer un excellent séjour.

Beautiful Tuscany views!

We stayed for two months and enjoyed every minute of it! Nice little farm villa attached to beautiful large home. The area is just beautiful and very quiet. A very short walk into town for a morning coffee, gelato, groceries, etc. The family is wonderful and provided everything we needed and more! We will miss this home away from home! Thank you for helping make our holiday everything we hoped it would be!

Cadre idyllique et gérants super acceuillants

Ce serait faire la fine bouche que de ne pas donner la note maximale à cette propriété ainsi qu'aux gérants. Le cadre (collines typiques de la toscane au mileiu des vignes et des oliviers) et la bâtisse sont magnifiques. Ma femme était enchantée par le caractère et charme du logement. Le lieu est idéalement située pour les visites de Florence, Sienne, San Gimignano, etc.. mais il faudra une voiture. Les gérants ont été chaleureux et ont répondu à toutes nos petites demandes et nous avons même eu droit à un cours magistral (dans un francais parfait) sur l'huile d'olive, le Chianti Classicoet même l'histoire de la Toscane par Mr. Rovida père que je salue :-) .

Cosy apartment with character in a beautiful setting

We loved the character of the place and the tranquil location. The owners are thoughtful and friendly. Shops for essentials are only a short walk away and Mercatale is within easy reach of so many of Tuscany’s attractions. The Chianti region is stunning.

100% Authentic Tuscan Experience

Charming accommodation on a truly breathtaking, picturesque vineyard/olive grove. The beautiful rolling green hills that surround are second to none in all of Tuscany. More ideal with a car, but do-able (w/some time/travel limitations due to limited public trans). Central Tuscan location ideal for visiting all of Tuscany, including Florence. Stefano and his family were warm, welcoming, and attentive. My daughter and I could not have asked for more during our month long stay there. We would welcome another opportunity to stay again, as it very much felt like a home-away-from-home.

Wonderful place with peaceful surroundings

A wonderful and peaceful location. Beautifully placed among the olive fields, but only a 5 min walk from the city of Mercatale, where you have nice cafés and a supermarket. Although you feel like you are far away from everything, you are right in the heart of Tuscany and Chianti. Firenze, San Gimignano and Siena are all within an half an hour drive away. The family is truly heartwarming and friendly - the best of hosts. You can buy their local wine - made from the grapes on the fields next to the house, as well as the olive oil - made solely from the olive trees around your house. The only downside we experienced was that the wifi was a little weak in the middle of the house. You had to be by the doors and windows to catch it. I can highly recommend this place. We stayed in Gemma and loved it.

Bon Séjour à San Casciano

Endroit calme et reposant. Logement frais et adapté pour les chaleurs : un peu vieillot mais confort suffisant pour des vacances d'été. Bon rapport qualité / prix. Attention cependant aux colocataires qui piquent ! Bon accueil du fils du propriétaire : les produits de la ferme sont excellents et de qualité (vin et huile d'Olive). Nous recommandons le lieu et ses environs.

Maison très agréable, idé...

Maison très agréable, idéalement située au milieu des grandes villes et petits villages de Toscane, au milieu des vignes. Le propriétaire est très sympathique, parle français couramment et vous parlera volontiers de sa région. Il nous a dailleurs gentiement prêté deux vélos, et sa propre huile d'olive est à tomber par terre. Des commerces sont à moins d'un kilomètre, la maison est équipée pour cuisiner. Un souvenir de vacances mémorables!

"Sehr schöne liebevoll eingerichtete und gut ausgestattete Ferienwohnung. Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen, obwohl wir aufgrund ser Flugzeit erst spät in der Wohnung angekommen sind. Besonders genossen haben wir die schöne Terasse mit Garten und Eidechsenbesuch beim Frühstück. Die "wichtigen Ziele" in der Toskana: Florenz, San Gimignano, Siena, Arezzo sind von der Ferienwohnung aus mit dem Auto gut erreichbar. Den Supermarkt erreicht man zu Fuß in 10 min."
