A little bit of paradise at La Faurie

We had a wonderful week at La Faurie. The weather was amazing, the pool simply wonderful and refreshing. The house very well equipped and full of character. We will return. Merci!

The property was gorgeous, clean and the pool was stunning. The kitchen was well equipped. We had a lovely family holiday. Just a couple of points to note. The beds were very very firm, to the point of being uncomfortable. Firm beds are not for us. The listing said hot tub. We hadn’t seen one in the pictures so guessed it was a mis-print, but to confirm there is no hot-tub despite it being listed. The WiFi did not work at all. We called the host who was very good and came straight away but could not fix it. It did not get fixed the entire week we were there. You are in the countryside in an old house so mobile data signal was patchy to non-existent within the property. This can be frustrating when planning days out (or when you have teenagers.) We had a lovely holiday and visited some gorgeous locations in the region. The property was private and clean.

Merveilleux endroit au calme ! Région magnifique, belle piscine.Internet inexistant et 4G seulement près de la piscine ! Déconnexion garantie !La literie bénéficierait d’une mise à jour mais ces désagréments sont vites oublié tant l’endroit est magnifique !

Bouffée d'air en famille à Badefols d'Ans

Notre famille a beaucoup apprécié cette parenthèse hors du temps, en ce mois de juillet 2024, juste avant les JO à Paris. Un ado, un pré-ado et nous les parents remercions grandement les propriétaires. Il ne manque rien ! La maison est bien équipée. La piscine chauffée était très appréciable après les visites de cette magnifique région qu'est la Dordogne. Une supérette et des restaurants accessibles à pied depuis le gîte. Mais avant tout le calme et la nature tout autour ...

super vriendelijk ontvangen, prachtige ligging en prachtig verblijf. Heerlijk rustig en privé.

Je recherchais un séjour pas trop loin de chez moi, au calme, avec une piscine privée. Je n'ai pas été déçue. La périgourdine est vraiment belle, au calme. Et la piscine était très agréable. J'ai pu décompresser au calme et faire des visites des sites alentours. Mathilde a répondu rapidement à mes questions avant mon séjour. J'ai donc pu le préparer tranquillement. Vacances au calme

Nous avons passé un bon séjour 4 adultes Dans le descriptif d'Abritel il est indiqué 3 salles de bains. Je précise qu il y a une erreur Il y a une salle d'eau à l'étage de la maison et une douche avec wc dans un local proche de la piscine. A l'extérieur de la maison. Il est indiqué que la wifi est offerte. Sachez que dans la région le réseau est casi nul pour internet et que nous pouvions passer des appels téléphoniques depuis le chemin... L'inventaire n'est pas à jour mais l'état des lieux reste cool à l'entrée et à la sortie. Les propriétaires sont réactifs et joignables lorsqu'on à des questions. Le cadre est sympa et reposant

Great stay during a very hot week.

The property was a charming cottage set in acres of land - which you can explore. Deer seen everyday. The local town is an easy walk. The host was very friendly and the information about the cottage and activities, markets etc where made very clear. We did stay during an unusually hotter summer 34 plus which made the sleeping conditions upstairs hot. The location is perfect for driving to local towns and attractions or just chilling at the property. We took our young son and a permanent stairgate was present upstairs. I would def like to come back. My only remark is that a key box/code be present so that guests are free to arrive and leave when they please. It would also save the host an early wake up call on checkout. Many thanks again

Could have been a real gem

The cottage was beautifully restored, set in stunning and tranquil countryside with glorious views. The size of rooms was good, beds were very comfortable and the pool area was lovely. However we were very disappointed that the second 'bathroom' was in fact a shower and toilet in an outside storeroom. The house had inadequate lighting for reading and cooking in the evening, the dining seating was uncomfortable, the pillows need updating and there needs to be more of them. The pool pump mechanism was extremely loud and one day after it had been going for 6 hours we had to insist that it be turned off which the owners did but reluctantly. We were also shocked that we were expected to clean the house thoroughly ourselves prior to departure or pay a cleaning fee. We paid the fee and were still expected to strip all the beds. None of this was made clear on the website. We still really enjoyed the holiday although we felt that the house was quite basic and not good value for money and is not suitable for couples and friends. We have stayed in many properties in other parts of France and all over Europe spending a similar amount of money but experienced a higher level of comfort and facilities. I feel strongly that the information provided on the website needs to be more accurate to reflect the situation of the bathrooms and the cleaning fee. However we were very disappointed that th

Hello, Thank you for your comments. I wish to provide answers to your inconveniences. We have 2 bathrooms: one inside the house with shower and sink. The second is a supplement near the pool: shower and toilet. I made this point on the announcement and the contract to avoid any misunderstanding. The lighting in the living room is ok, the dining room is a farmhouse table with benches, traditional. We will check the mechanism of the swimming pool. However, it remains necessary to have a pump and filtration for a heated pool. Finally, we do not want to include the cleaning fee at the end of the stay because everyone must have the choice to clean or pay for the next visitors. In any case, we ask that the house be tidy, garbage emptied and linen collected. All this has been re-specified in the announcement. Finally, I want to say that vacationers appreciate this house and your arrival was particularly complicated for us ...

Très agréable location

Location très sympa, proche de Hautefort. Le temps a malheureusement été mitigé durant cette semaine, mais nous avons quand même pu profiter de la piscine chauffée, qui est un vrai plus. Les extérieurs sont parfaits, en plein nature, sans vis-à-vis c'est un vrai moment de détente. Le gîte est à 1H de route d'un grand nombre de visites (aquarium du Périgord, jardins de Marqueyssac, Collonges-la-Rouge etc...). L'ensemble permet donc de jongler entre piscine/farniente et visites culturelles. Le seul bémol (vraiment pas énorme) reste le rangement qui manque un peu pour les courses de la semaine, rien de bien grave donc. Un gîte à fortement recommander donc.

Get away from it all...

We enjoyed a lovely holiday in La Faurie and can highly recommend it if you are looking for a quiet relaxing break in a rural location. The property is exactly as shown - full of character but comfortably furnished and well equipped. Outside, there is plenty of space and a good size pool which is fenced in for added safety. There is another similar property nearby but both are completely private from eachother. There is a boulangerie, charcuterie and a small supermarket in the village which is about 5 minutes walk and we can also recommend the Auberge des Tilleuls restaurant in the village square. There is a large Intermarche supermarket and some more restaurants in Hautforte which is about 5 minutes drive. Mathilde and her family were very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay and were a pleasure to deal with., and we would be very happy to return some time in the future

Zeer mooi gelegen hoeve met mooi en goed verwarmd zwembad. Goede ontvangst door de verhuurders die ook tijdens het verblijf tips voor uitstapjes geven. Enige minpuntje : nogal kleine en harde bedden.
