Robert's home was such a unique, beautiful beach cottage, which is not surprising for an architect's own property. We loved how cozy it felt, the location (on a private road within a stone's throne from the harbor, where we watched the sunsets and the beautiful swans of Three Mile Harbor), and the design of the home. Our guests all marveled at how unique the design was. Robert was also extremely responsive and helpful. The outdoor shower is refreshing and perfect, and believe it or not we had to actually use the wood-burning stove for cold August nights, which means you won't miss the fact that there isn't AC (and on hot days, the cross breeze does the trick). We loved playing games on the big kitchen table; eating our dinners out on the breezy, big, open-air patio; having Aperol spritzes by the bay; and driving to the nearby farmer's markets, Pollock house, and variety of beaches. And all in such a design-forward setting -- a truly unique experience! P.S. Forgot to add - there are gems in Robert's book selection. In addition to a book about his own work, who can pass up the original Emily post?
