We loved this property the minute we walked into it. It is a traditional old Catalan house, made of enormous river bolders, and as a consequence never gets too hot. It is very charming, and very unique to that area. It has traditional old shutters, cottage type rooms with beams, a wooden winding staircase, and large attics. The views out the front windows are stunning. The garden terraces are amazing - accessed from stairs out of the attic - and stretch out at the back of the house over the roof line. The views of the village and surrounding mountains are spectacular. A botle of wine and the sound of the river are all you need to unwind.
The house is set in a row of old houses stretching out of the village, all of which were built in a slightly different way, different sizes, with different colours walls and shutters. It is a very picturesque village, and very French catalan, many of the older folk still speak catalan, and everyone is very friendly.
