Wonderful place to stay!!

The house had everything we needed to relax and enjoy our vacation. It was very clean and just a great place to stay. The very short walk to the beach was perfect too!! Not super close to the tourist attractions so it was wonderfully peaceful!

Family vacay

This property was perfect for our family’s needs. It is close to everything without being in the party area of Virginia Beach. Loved the outdoor shower to rinse off the sand after the beach. We will stay here again if it’s available next time we come to VA Beach.

Great House & Amazing Location

The location and size of the property were exactly what we were looking for. If anything the beach was closer than expected, and was not very busy. The outdoor shower was great, and overall we were very happy with the stay.

Family getaway.

It was wonderful when we arrived to find a hot tub and the first thing we needed after a long drive was to dip into it but unfortunately it was not functioning, perhaps next time. sleeping quarters were cozy and comfortable also having a full functioning kitchen was a big relief for preparing breakfast and dinner.

We were not aware the rental was a multi-residence house but it was fine. The location to the beach was great. Unfortunately we only had a couple of good weather days to go to the beach.

Family Trip

The beach house was perfect for our extended family group. Location is close to all we wanted take do at state park and beach as welll as close to town. Wendy is super nice and available to answer any questions. Thanks !

Restful weekend

Overall very happy with the location property. The space is charming and beautifully decorated. There was enough space for our family to gather for family time and spread out when we needed to. It's a quick walk to the beach that is easy enough to carry a beach chair and umbrella without issue-but the owners supplied a beach wagon for days when we needed to carry more things (cooler, toys, extra chairs, etc). It was convenient that it was close to the more touristy parts of Virginia Beach while being secluded and quiet at the same time.

Va Beach Northend Oceanside of Atlantic Ave

Comfortable ground floor apartment with two queen bedrooms and one room with bunk beds. Only one parking space. Kitchen inadequately equipped for cooking large family dinners. A few steps to the best beach on the entire east coast. House would benefit from new beach chairs and a good beach cart. A wonderful block with a neighborhood feel.

Great location. Very nice place and very clean!!

We had two couples that visited the property. It was located close to the beach and was very easy to get to the beach. The house was very clean and nice. We really enjoyed our stay and would absolutely come back!!! Wendy was awesome to work with!!!!!!!!

Perfect stay!

Location, location, location! Away from the beach traffic and chaos-but close enough to enjoy it. Huge first level home-beautifully decorated. Love the use of the outdoor space. Easy walk to the beach- it was everything I could ask for. It felt like a seperate home - I would recommend the property to anyone looking for that “OBX” feeling in VB. Thanks so much- Laura

Palmer stay

My husband and I sent our daughter and family to Alaska as a Christmas present. They had an RV but I thought a night in a house would be a nice break. They raved about the views, and the beautiful details of the property. I think we’re going back next year and will be sure to book here!

Family beach vacation

We enjoyed our stay at this property. The hosts live above the rental. They were responsive, and when we saw them, they were kind and helpful. The location of the rental is great. It's in the residential area of VA Beach, so the beach itself isn't crowded, and the boardwalk is just a short drive away. The walk to the sand is very short, but the beach itself is very long--so walking to the water itself is a workout! The water was still pretty cold in early June, but our kids didn't mind (just the adults did!). The house itself accommodated our family (2 adults, 3 kids) well. It has an outdoor shower, 3 bedrooms, a family room, a large dining area, a big laundry room, and a small (but modern) kitchen. The kitchen only has the bare basics, and some of the finishings and furniture were in need of repair. For example, a lot of the blinds on the windows didn't close all the way, the pillows were very old and flat, the bed in the master bedroom was very uncomfortable (I'm not sure if it sagged in the middle?), and the bunk bed was very rickety. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. The house was clean and gave us easy access to the reason for our visit--the beach!

Very clean cottage and quiet neighborhood

Our overall stay was good. The cottage is very cleaned and well maintained. The place is located in a very nice, quiet neighborhood. It is very close to the beach, which is quiet and not visited by too many people. It was great! Be aware that this is not a separate home, it is part of a house, and the owners live upstairs. They were very quiet, and we could not hear them. So, this was a plus. However, the posting on VRBO does not make that clear. We only learned that the cottage wasn't a separate entity when we spoke to the owner on the phone before getting there. The beds weren't comfortable to us. The jacuzzi tub was not functional.

Family friendly

This location was away from the crowded boardwalk. It was easy access to the beach, biking path and the state park. There was plenty of room for our group of 7 (4 adults and 3 kids).

Great for vacation, not for remote work

Cottage is the bottom floor of the host's family home and on the coast side of Atlantic, so a great location for a beach vacation. Home was well stocked with most creature comforts. We stayed for a month, so needed a base for remote work and found WiFi was unreliable and overall too slow for most streaming requirements. This included zoom meetings, streaming video or even the TV, which relied on WiFi. Hosts were responsive to our repeated txts on the issue, but it never got reliably better during our stay. So, definitely come with a backup mobile hotspot (not Sprint!) and don't plan on evening TV time.

Wonderful location Beach was almost private. Home was spacious for us. 3 adults,one child. Could use a few amenities. Bath mats or rugs. Kitchen was fine, but the ice maker didn't dispense ice. We would rebook.

Family friendly needs furniture update.

We had a wonderful time with family celebrating a birthday! Bedrooms need dressers. One couch needs update, getting very mushy. Location is fantastic!

My husband and I grew up in Va Beach. We have seen a lot of changes over the years. It has always been a family beach with so much to offer. With its pristine beaches, beautiful sunrises over the ocean and beautiful sunsets on the bay. We love being outdoors, riding bikes, surfing, boogie boarding, picnics and taking walks on our beautiful beach.

This property has been in my family for 50 years.
All the neighbors and their children met on the beach and spent long summer days enjoying the sun and ocean. I have fond memories of my childhood friends and learning to surf, playing all day in the sand dunes, and building sand castles. We had neighborhood barbecues and lots of fireworks.We wanted our children to have the same experience as we did.

It is so nice having the ocean in your backyard. Their is always so much to do. We like being active and this location has just that. There is a lot of places to bike, hike, their is swimming, surfing, etc. Sometimes on Saturday morning we decide to ride bikes for breakfast or have dinner on the boardwalk or maybe just pack a lunch for a day at the beach. We have free outdoor concerts and a beautiful Boardwalk starting on 40th street continuing to 1st street.
