EVENT IN JULY EVERY YEAR THE FAMOUS AVIGNON FESTIVAL.
Avignon is famous for its theater festival, created in 1947 by Jean Vilar, which now attracts the entire contemporary performing arts scene in summer. Every year in July, the City of the Popes becomes the City of Theater, its streets transformed into a huge stage that hosts the world's largest live theater festival, In & Off. Theater stages blossom in the city center. The show is on the street, in improvised theaters, in sometimes unlikely places. Over a thousand shows take place in these theaters. And in the Cour d'Honneur of the Palais des Papes. You can attend this exceptional event... Avignon is a huge stage in which the spectator is a stakeholder. In addition to the many existing theaters and restaurants, there are plenty of temporary ones opening their doors for the occasion. Hundreds of street vendors, craftsmen and painters exhibit their wares. Singers and bands of all styles, dancers and theater companies enliven our streets and stages, and the city is an open-air forum where festival-goers talk about the shows and share their experiences as spectators.

For one month, everyone can have access to a lively, contemporary culture. If you're tempted by this fabulous STAY, come and take your vacation in our region. Our Provencal villa is just 5 minutes from the Avignon Festival.
