Lovely House!

We were so well taken care of by Sylvia and Delia. They were very thoughtful and helpful. The house is beautiful, comfortable and more spacious than the photos. The garden is enchanting. The neighborhood is convenient to the major supermarket across the street and it felt very safe.

Casa Grua house is a Great Casa

Our week long stay at Casa Gura was great to say the least. From the moment we arrived we were greeted very warmly by the Delia who introduced us to Sylvia the housekeeper, there was a homemade guacamole waiting for us. The house is spacious and well-maintained as well as very comfortable. The furniture in the living room is very inviting for family get-togethers or even taking an afternoon siesta. Sylvia was waiting every day to meet any need we may have had or wanted. She prepared breakfast for us every morning and also prepared either lunch or dinner depending on our needs. There's a grocery store across the street that carries anything you would need for your stay, and there is even a worker at the store that would carry the groceries to your house for a small gratuity. Spending time by the pool and patio within the immaculately maintained garden with another added pleasure of staying in this home. The pool is kept constant 80°F and our children enjoyed it thoroughly, as did the adults. House is located in a safe neighborhood with 24 hour Taqueria just up the block. We enjoyed our stay here and look forward to coming back in the future. Just bring a lot of repellent to keep mosquitoes away. If you're considering to stay in this part of Mexico do yourself a favor and book a stay at Casa Grua.

Birthday Extravaganza

We stayed in this architecturally significant house to celebrate my wife's birthday at the end of October. The weather in this fun little city was delightful, the food and shopping were great, the house and atmosphere were absolutely perfect, and we even were able to experience the Dia de Los Muertos -- a beautiful time to visit the city. Sylvia couldn't have been better - accommodating in every way possible. The pool and yard made a great place to escape the busy streets and markets to relax and provided a nice poolside paradise since the city is not on the coast. Our week long stay was absolutely perfect in every way. We will surely return to the Crane's oasis...sooner than later.

Just about perfect!

The Cranes's lovely home made for a delightful 10-day stay over the holidays with family and friends. One of the best parts about the environment is that this is obviously a place that they enjoy visiting and it shows in the personal touches around the house. From arrival to departure the housekeeper/cook Sra. Silvia and the property administrator Delia did everything they could to make our stay comfortable, responding like troupers when one of us took a fall or was sick for a couple of days. Silvia is an excellent cook and a delightful person. She cooked most of our meals. We talked over with her when and what we would like to eat, gave her money for the groceries and she took care of the rest. If you enjoy homemade Mexican cuisine as we do, hers will be better than you are likely to get in any restaurant. At the end of our visit, we felt like Silvia and her husband, who live on the property, were valued new friends. The home itself is great. The pictures on VRBO are completely accurate in every respect. Having been "burned" by previous vacation rentals which were not as advertised, we asked a local friend to arrange to visit the house in advance. The owners cooperated with this request. The master bedroom and bath are very ample and well equipped. Another bedroom with twin beds and its own ensuite bath is on the main floor. The third bedroom and bath are in another building, affording privacy to those occupants and is also more than adequate. The very comfortable living room and tv room/office were very enjoyable, but we spent most of our time on the patio by the pool. The pool was kept at a comfortable temperature by solar heating. We enjoyed the location of the home, which is virtually across the street from a shopping area with a large supermarket and other shops. There is another strip mall in walking distance with ATMs. Casa Grúa is a short ride to the main plaza and to various restaurants, movie theaters, etc. in the general neighborhood. We are two gay couples and found ourselves completely welcomed by our hosts. Cuernavaca seems to be a fairly gay-friendly town. Until recently the state of Morelos offered same-sex marriages. Unfortunately local church leaders pressured the state to rescind the law. Just in case you're wondering, I have no ownership or other fiduciary interest in this property. I just want others to enjoy it and maybe make a special trip to Cuernavaca, which is a great place to visit.

Wonderful vacation Home!

This is a wonderful home. It is bright, clean and welcoming. The ambiance is relaxing and modern Mexican. The owners provided a list of sights and restaurants that was very helpful. Cuernavaca is a city with a long history, wonderful garden restaurants, colorful art and crafts, and unbelievable weather! It was a perfect vacation home!

Really great in every way!

We love this house. It is very comfortable with an inside living room area and a covered sitting area outside near the pool. There is a charming Mexican flair but still modern enough to be easy. It's very relaxing to lay around in the pool and the staff is extremely anxious to please. Quernavaca is a great Mexican town with many English speaking shops, restaurants, museums, etc. There is a good list of places to go, etc. A few right near by. We walk some but mostly use a taxi. We will return for sure.

Awesome Pool! The house was clean, quiet and comfortable.

We had an amazing time at Casa de Gruá in March for 6 days. Very private and quiet place to rest and soak up the fantastic Cuernavaca sunshine. Amazing pool time with a beautiful garden and plus the housekeeper Sylvia makes the best guacamole in town! The property was exactly as described on the internet so there were no surprises when we got there. We had zero issues with the check-in or check-out process. The house was very comfortable and had all the perfect amenities. The owners referred a great masseuse who came to the house and gave a wonderful treatment. There is also a large grocery store 5 minute's walk which was super convenient. Would definitely rent again.

Our family has been coming to Cuernavaca for over a decade. We own a construction company in Mississippi. We fell in love with Casa de Gruá because of the privacy the compound offers with the conveniences that are right outside the gate.

There are two homes on the compound. The main house with two bedrooms, study, dining, living, and kitchen with bar has an open floor plan that offers views to the lush garden. The second home has a bedroom with a porch that overlooks the garden and pool from the tree tops as well as a massage room that could be used as a fourth bedroom. The massage room has a sink, but no toilet. Right outside the gate and just across Alta Tension Blvd. is Chedraui – a large grocery that also has liquor, wine, beer, drugs, and ice. Very convenient! Also, one block away is Las Quintas Hotel @ 9 Diaz Ordaz –through Chedrui parking lot, the hotel offers a wonderful patio restaurant for meals and cocktails.

There is a live-in housekeeper, Vera, who cleans six days a week. She also does laundry/ironing and cooks two meals a day. A masseuse, Estella (she speaks English) will come to the house by appointment. There is a massage table in the studio (halfway up the stairs to the upper bedroom in the 2nd home. Her rate is $550 pesos/person). She is wonderful! A manicurist (also speaks English) will come to the Casa by appointment. Rates are $150 pesos for manicure and $170 pesos for pedicure. An aesthetician is also available for facials at the Casa.

The pool is solar heated to 85° - it could be cooler if desired. If you would like it warmer, you would need to pay the gas which runs $50-70 USD/day.
