A place to enjoy in peace, with a house that feels like home

We enjoyed the coziness of the bright house with a lot of comfort, the beautiful garden and the beautiful view. the hospitable welcome by Brunella and Giovanni and very helpful personal tips to explore the area. A place where we would like to come back again!

It was our second stay in this beautiful house with an fantastic view. We love the very clean house, the garden, the view, the quietness, the privacy and everything. Thank you very much again Brunella and Giovanni.

Perfect stay

Beautiful house with the most amazing views of the lake. Comfortable and tastefully furnished, with access to all amenities. The owners live at the top of the garden and are on hand for any needs, at the same time you have privacy. Brunella was so helpful, communicating before we arrived and giving us important information. Later giving us tips on all the things to do in the area and where to eat. She could not have been kinder or more helpful. She even reserved a table for us at a local restaurant the first night we arrived, and provided us with coffee when we forgot to buy some and there was cake in the fridge for our breakfast! I really have nothing bad to say about this. Would have loved to stay longer.

We initially chose Carate Urio b/c of its location midway between Como and Lenno, which were the venues for a weekend wedding celebration we attended. As it turned out, staying at Sans Souci was itself a highlight of our 7-day stay. Both the dining/living area and the spacious bedroom downstairs offered lovely views across the lake. And since our hosts themselves live in the small house during the winter months, the place is fully furnished with appliances, comfortable chairs inside and out, and a wall full of books in multiple languages. Brunella and Giovanni were most helpful in mapping out routes to drive and suggesting restaurants, museums and villas to visit in the area. Despite the 30 or so steps required to reach the house from the designated parking lot down the hill, we 70-year-olds felt like youngsters coming and going to the local lakefront! A marvelous way to experience Lake Como, with gracious hosts who respected our privacy while always being available to answer any questions. Highly recommended!

It is a beautiful place to relax at lake Como

The house is beautiful with a nice view to lake Come. Especially in the evenings it is nice to sit outside an look at the lake and opposite site. We did not miss anything. Brunella and Giovanni are so nice and helpful, really great

Paradise Garden above Lake Como

All aspects of our stay exceeded expectations, which were already high according to the hymnisch praise of guests before us. The lake view, the calm atmosphere ein a lush garden, the amnesties, all was top of class. The nice caring of our hosts, who not only gave us a good insight on cultural and sightseeing opportunities, they also welcomed our two (grown up) daughters joining us on a surprise two day visit. Whether Brunella had also her hand in the excellent weather, we do not know, but it cannot be excluded.

San Souci and it’s hosts was Beyond our Expectations!

My wife and I enjoyed a magnificent week enjoying the well manicured gardens, fabulous lake Como view, warm and inviting hosts Giovanni and Brunella and their tremendous Villa. We had previously stayed at Villa D’Este for our honeymoon and found that Sans Souci offered so much more for us. We enjoyed all the surrounding villages and restaurants and felt compelled to return to the villa just to relax and take in the views and sounds of birds and church bells. Truly one of our best vacation experiences. Thank you Brunella and Giovanni. We will return.

We wanted to spend a holiday without many contacts and in calm - completely withdrawn. 'Sans Souci' is ideal for this (although it is centrally located in Carate Urio). Brunella and her family took this into account, but she was always available for questions. The beautiful house, the beautiful and large garden and the fantastic view, unique. We thank Brunella for her hospitality.

"In august we spent a nice holiday with our 2 daughters in carate urio in the house of Brunella and Giovanni C. The house has very tasteful furniture and is perfectly arranged. Our children lived in the bedroom and we enjoyed a fantastic view of the lake and the sunrise over the mountains from our sleeping couch in the living room. The shade on the hammock below the palmtrees makes you feel as in a dream. Family c. was always helpful and we were given different suggestions for restaurants and walking routes arround the Lago di como. We strongly recommend this house for your next holiday."

Great cottage with superb view of the lake

Despite the heat we have spent a wonderful week in Sans Souci. Brunella and Giovanni were really excellent host. They were always available and very helpful with their advice where to swim or where to dine. The house lies in a beautiful area of the lake. It offers private parking, which is a big help in this region of the lake. We have stayed there with 3 persons, which was no problem. There is plenty of space in the house and eve more in the grat garden. We wish Brunella and Giovanni all the best for the future. Thanks for having us as guest - we recommend this house to anyone who wants to get to know the Como lake region.

Caring Hosts

The location, facilities and view have been well covered by other reviews. I would like to concentrate on our hosts. We are elderly and unfortunately my wife picked up Covid on the flight,.and I tested positive a week later. We spent most of our holiday sel-fisolating.. Brunella & Giovanni could not have been more helpful and were genuinely concerned for our welfare. .Fortunately, we were not very ill but it was very reassuring to know that we had someone to turn to if needed, They did shopping for us and even brought us a Sunday dinner with wine..They made it very clear that we should phone or text if we needed anything. Although we spent most of our time confined to house and garden we still enjoyed our holiday We can't thank Brunella & Giovanni enough for the care and support they gave us. James & Christel Graham

The best house and hosts on Lake Como!

We had an absolutely wonderful week in Brunella and Giovanni’s house Sans Souci! The photos do not do it justice, it is even more beautiful than the photos can portray! The location is brilliant, you can get to so many pretty towns and villages by boat and there are so many walks to take for those who want to be more active. Brunella is so heart warming and made us feel so welcome. And she genuinely cares for every need or problem you may have. She certainly helped us out with a sticky situation! 😉 And Giovanni took so much time to explain all the possible things to do and sites to see. Definitely not expected and so valuable! We were obviously paying guests but Brunella and Giovanni made us feel completely like guests and we felt so at home. Have no worries about privacy, although they are also on the property you have no worries about privacy as the house is on the other side of the property. Everything was ideal! And the house has all you need and more. The views are fabulous! I want to go back already! What more can I say, the name of the house is perfect, we arrived stressed from the journey and left “Sans Souci” (no worries, relaxed)! Thank you so much dear Brunella and Giovanni! We will be back!

Die Gastgeber Brunella und Giovanni waren super zuvorkommend. Das Haus hat einen wahnsinnig schönen Blick auf den See und die Berge, es ist geschmackvoll eingerichtet und sehr sauber. Es ist in der Umgebung auch sehr ruhig.Wir hatten einen tollen Aufenthalt!

In der Ferienwohnung mit traumhaftem Seeblick und einem sehr schönen Garten, im kleinen Örtchen Carate Urio, 10Km nördlich von Como, lässt es sich gut erholen. Die sehr herzlichen Vermieter versorgen dich mit Insiderinformationen für Wanderungen, Ausflüge und Restaurants, die immer zutreffen. Ein kleiner Supermarkt in der Nähe hat alles für den täglichen Bedarf an Essen. Kleiner Nachteil, der Parkplatz ist ca. 300 Meter entfernt, und es ist ständig etwas steil zum Laufen. Mann sollte gut zu Fuß sein.

Herrliche Unterkunft aber Verkehrschaos

Schöne Unterkunft und landschaftlich ein Traum, aber leider während unseres Aufenthaltes war der See überlaufen und chaotisch. Wir empfehlen die Sehenswürdigkeiten genau zu planen und vorzubuchen.

Kleinod am Comer See in Carate Urio

Wir haben uns im Haus Sanssoucis von Brunella und Giovanni sehr wohl gefühlt. Es hat uns an nichts gefehlt, die malerische Lage und Nähe zum See hat unser Urlaubsgefühl abgerundet. Die Vermieter waren sehr sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Alles hat hervorragend funktioniert. Das Haus ist bestens ausgestattet und lässt keine Wünsche offen. Die beiden Terrassen laden zum Entspannen ein und bieten einen herrlichen Blick auf den See. Ein zugehöriger überwachter Parkplatz ist ein weiterer Pluspunkt. Wir würden das Haus jederzeit wieder buchen und können es nur wärmstens weiterempfehlen.
