The accommodation is in an old converted outbuilding of the main house, which is used in the summer by the owners. We had the place to ourselves, which was great - although because we came late in the season, the sun left the garden and the swimming pool in the early afternoon.
There is a double bedroom upstairs, which is tastefully and intriguingly decorated with African pictures and ornaments. Downstairs in the living room there is a sofa bed and a single bed - though I can't imagine who would want to say there. Not convenient for kids and no privacy for adults. The washing facilities in bathroom are rather eccentric. There is no means of sealing the plug holes in either the bath or the wash hand basin, so full immersion of any kind isn't possible. The shower isn't fixed to the wall either, which means the only way of freshening up is to hold the shower over one's head and crouch down in the bath and hope not to spray the floor.
We decided not to drive for miles to restaurants, so cooked for ourselves instead. This was fine, but there isn't much choice of knives and utensils.
These are minor criticisms. Over all we loved staying in Ville di Paraso. The area is stunning, the villages extraordinary, and the mountains fabulous places to explore. On a final note, it's definitely worth brushing up on your French. No one we met spoke English, including the lady from the village who gave us the key.
