What a wonderful stay! Marshall's house is well stocked and in the perfect location. We were minutes away from the beach and their wagon made it a breeze to carry all of our supplies. The house was spacious and clean; perfect for hosting a multi-generation family. Seeing dolphins on the inter-coastal one night definitely made the trip for my daughters! We'll definitely come back!

We had an amazing peaceful stay and vacation. The home was even more beautiful than in the pictures. Super short walk to the beach and all the beach necessities were available for use, which was great. The sunrises on the beach and sunsets in the back bay were amazing. Great views from the porches of the water and pool. Highly recommend this rental!

An Overall Excellent Stay

This is a wonderful place to stay for a fairly quiet family beach trip. Location and proximity to the beach was excellent. Having pool access was a plus. And plenty of space for our family of seven. If I'm going to nitpick, the listing isn't clear upfront about needing to bring all your own linens (bedsheets, bath towels, etc.). Also, the house wasn't stocked with toilet paper, paper towels, and hand soaps. If these items had been more clearly stated in the listing, it would have been better. These are minor annoyances, though, and they didn't affect our overall experience.

A great place to stay! There is plenty of space to spread out, with four large porches and a lovely, open living space on the top floor. The beach is less than a five-minute walk, and we enjoyed going out to eat (and for ice cream) just a mile up the road.Marshall, our host, was very quick to communicate.One note: the VRBO doesn't provide bed sheets. We hadn't run into this before, and it's not really spelled out in the description of the property. There is a local place to rent them or you can just bring your own.Overall, this is a lovely, well-equipped home, and we had a wonderful vacation. We would definitely stay here again.

This house was perfect for our stay. The living room is full of light and you can see the ocean from the windows. Every room is stylish with the ocean theme of decorations. Short walk to the beach.

Family Weekend Getaway

What a wonderful stay! The house is beautiful and you can tell it is well loved/cared for. It had everything we needed, including games to play on the cloudy days. We wish the pool was opened but we were about one week too early. We enjoyed our family time together. Thank you!!

RENTER BEWARE

We had a wounderful time, but beware of renting as you'll be accussed of stealing and damaging. Then charged our credit card $500 for damages and we did none of these things that we are being accussed of. It should have been a RED Flag when sent a seperate contract to sign outside of what VRBO rental requires.

Family fall beach trip

We checked in on Thursday and checked out on Sunday. The beach house is beautiful and the view of the ocean from the kitchen is great. The kitchen is well stocked and we cooked a lot of our meals at the house. This house has the best pantry I’ve ever seen at a beach house - that is important to us as we bring/cook most of our own food and eat together at the house. The evening sunset view from the pier behind the house is breathtaking. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning!

Wonderful property!

Our family had a wonderful stay at Sand Dollar Blessing. The property was clean, kitchen was stocked full of all the dishes, cutlery, and cooking equipment you would need, and beds were comfortable. We also loved using the grill on the bottom level. The property is about a 5 minute walk to the beach, and having the extra beach cart and chairs helped make our trips and stays on the beach that much easier. Our kids loved having access to both the beach as well as the pool which is right next to the property. Restaurants, shops, grocery stores, mini golf, etc were no more than 10 minutes away. Marshall was easy to get in touch with for any questions we had. A beautiful place to stay if you are looking for that perfect beach getaway. I know we will be back!

Best Vacation

This was the best beach house we've rented! The kitchen was so well equipped and we found everything we needed to make most of our meals at home. The beach chairs and boogie boards were fantastic. Ending our days with a dip in the pool then viewing the sunset on the pier was perfect. The location is great for taking the golf cart everywhere and the kids (12 & 14) enjoyed riding their bikes to town and to the basketball court. Just a short walk to the beach for sunrise and never many people at the public access as we set up for a full day of relaxing in the sand. We've stayed at so many beach houses and this was the best! It could not have been cleaner, so much space to spread out and unpack clothes and food, and with very comfortable accommodations. We had an issue with the air conditioning and Marshall had someone out to fix it right away. If you are thinking about this spot, book it! Thank you so much for sharing your home Marshall.

Beautiful home in a nice Surf City neighborhood

My husband and I, our kids (13, 11, 9, and 5) and my parents had a wonderful week stay in your home! The beach was only a short walk away. Just be cautious crossing the road as cars often went over the 35MPH speed limit. The beach itself was beautiful, but if traveling with small kids or those who aren’t strong swimmers, I’d recommend going at low tide! The pool was a very welcome option when the beach and currents were stronger! The walk out on the boardwalk was nice, and you can get some great sunset views from there! The house itself was very well equipped with everything we needed for the week. We cooked almost every meal there, and had everything we needed! The 2 wagons were super helpful, and there were chairs and plenty of beach toys too! We brought our own, but could’ve gotten away without packing those! The beds were pretty comfortable, and having the bunk rooms was great for the kids! The metal bunk bed in the “boys room” is not very sturdy on top, so I wouldn’t recommend anyone over 10ish to sleep up there (it’s hard to climb up too, so we ended up using the mattress on the floor instead). Having 3 full baths was fantastic too, and all the porches were amazing, offering a variety of views! My only suggestion for improvement would be to invest in some light blocking curtains for all the bedrooms, including for the tiny windows in there, because the sun rises early! And possibly the upstairs sliding door, as you can see right into your neighbor’s. We loved it!

Thanksgiving 2023

Great property, nice and clean, comfortable beds and good location. We had steaks planned for our Thanksgiving dinner and unfortunately upon getting ready for dinner, we discovered that the propane tank was empty. Very frustrating at first! But my husband found a place open to fill it. So we paid for a full tank of propane, only to use it one time. Obviously future guests will benefit from our cost.

Such a wonderful vacation home!

We enjoyed our stay at this house so much! It was absolutely perfect for our family and we couldn't have been happier. The house was the perfect size for us, and so close to the pool and beach. The kitchen is well-stocked with pots, pans, dishes, etc for cooking meals. The decorations were very nice, and all of the beds and sofas were comfortable. AMAZING Stay

We had a fantastic time at Marshall’s house. The house was clean and spacious. Some of our favorite features included the deck with a view of the ocean AND the bay. The walk to the beach was a breeze. We will be back next summer!

Excellent location to beach, clean, roomy

We stayed with another family, both with kids. Ample sleeping space for everyone. Very clean, had plenty of dishes and kitchen gadgets to make meals at home. The walk to the beach is very short. Being on that side of the road gave us access to the pier where the kids caught and released crabs, the pool is super convenient. Cozy, quiet neighborhood. Lovely shops, restaurants and ice cream places at both ends of the road (a short driving distance). The description of the amenities is spot on. Great place, would highly recommend it.

Pristine Property!!

This is the cleanest house we’ve ever stayed in - very well cared for. We appreciate that! The outdoor furniture on the 2nd floor porch was super comfortable The wagon provided, really helped transport chairs and a cooler on the short walk to the beach. Very nice little neighborhood. One odd thing we noticed was there were no chairs at the pool - I suppose you have to bring your own? That was just something we had never seen - it wouldn’t keep us from returning and would definitely request to stay again when in the area!!!

2015 was our first year listed on HomeAway and VRBO. We first listed through a local rental agency but felt it kept renters at too far a distance from us - the homeowners! So, with advice from friends, we are now listing our beach home property ourselves. In the process we hope to maintain better oversight of our beautiful beach home, as well as provide a better welcome and stay for our guests. In the process we will get to know you a little in order to provide you with the things you might need in order to ensure you have a great stay at our home. Based on past experience, we prefer to rent to families, with the minimum age of the responsible party being 30 or over. We looked up and down the entire NC coast until we found a place with just the right mix of location and amenities for our family. And we found it here in Surf City (even the town name is cool!)!! Our end-of-street beach house offers great views and is almost new, very bright and only a short stroll to the beach, and right next to the community pool and pier. It has a great beach vibe with its great ocean views and unmistakable cottage feel. The upper living floor is open concept with extra windows on the ocean side to capitalize on the great ocean views. There are 4 separate bedrooms, each with a 32' flat screen TV and DVD player so that everyone can have their own space. The MBR also has a desk in case you need to make sure things are okay back at work while you are enjoying your ocean vacation.

Great sunny house location as the end-unit with wonderful ocean views. Extra windows for even more views! Classic beach cottage feel. Next to the uncrowded beach and near Surf City shops and restaurants. Use of beautiful neighborhood pool shared by only about 20 houses - not hundreds of units - so it is never too crowded. New community pier out to the ICW, with floating launch platform that is great for kayaking, fishing, crabbing, sunsets, etc.... We try to anticipate your needs and meet or exceed them. FULLY STOCKED kitchen & large gas BBQ grill. Just a restful place with plenty of space to spend time at the beach and with family and friends.
