This was an idle location for the plans we had made in the area. We attended the Menzies Clan annual gathering at the Menzies Castle , which is a short distance from the house. Aberfeldy was only a few minute drive and was a lovely town with very friendly people, nice restaurants, pubs and other attractions. Our trip coincided with the annual ag, craft and Scottish games festival located just outside of town. It was a great cultural event. When we come back we will definitely consider staying in the same home. Thanks Janet!

Not quite as expected

In our opinion, while the property has some positives—cleanliness, a well-equipped kitchen, and a beautiful location near Aberfeldy—our stay was quite disappointing. We felt that the property guide was overly strict, with too many rules that made it difficult to relax and enjoy the space. For example, the heating was off when we arrived and controlled by timers that we couldn’t adjust. Combined with numerous rules about its use, the property was often cold, which made our stay uncomfortable. Additionally, the rule against moving the lounge furniture to suit our needs felt unnecessarily restrictive. In our view, the claim of being pet-friendly was misleading. The restrictions on where dogs could go and the unfenced outdoor space didn’t align with what we expect from a pet-friendly property. The unexpected £25 charge per dog, which wasn’t mentioned on the VRBO site, added to our frustration. There were also other issues. The welcome basket of wood for the stove was missing, and basic supplies like extra toilet roll and kitchen roll weren’t provided, which we believe should be standard in any rental. Overall, while the location is great, we wouldn’t return due to these issues. The abundance of rules made it hard for us to feel comfortable and relax during our stay.

Nice cottage and surrounding

Cottage was near and clean and both spacious and cosy. Location near Aberfeldy is also nice. Plenty of sightseeing and hiking options in the area.

ruime woning, mooie rustige locatie

De woning is ruim en ligt rustig gelegen. Vanuit de woning loop je zo de natuur in. De eigenaren zijn zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam. De wifi ontvangst is prima om aan de behoefte van 2 pubers te voldoen. De slaapkamer en woonkamer is up-to date. De badkamer en toilet is zeer ruim en kan wel een update gebruiken. Ook de apart keuken is ruim en er is veel servies en bestek aanwezig.

Fabulous stay!

Perfect location for exploring Perthshire and beyond. Lots to see and do locally. Great for dogs too as plenty of walking from the front door. Highly recommended!

Lovely holiday

My husband, daughter and dog all had a fab holiday in this home from home cottage, it was a perfect location and a great sized house. Janette was on hand is required (we needed help getting the wood fire lit first time) otherwise you are left to enjoy your holiday Would 100% recommend and look forward to booking again

A lovely place to stay

The property is lovely and comfortable and contained everything we required for our stay. The property is well maintained and clean. The owners were on hand - never intrusive - to offer friendly advice or assistance. The surrounding area was also lovely with lots of things to do.

Schöner Sommerurlaub in einer ruhigen Umgebung

Die Gegend um Aberfeldy ist schön. Man kann viel unternehmen. Wanderungen, Destillieren besuchen, Schlösser ansehen, Minigolfen (besser gesagt Putten), Essen gehen und relaxen. Unsere Kinder haben sich den Besuch in Schottland gewünscht und sehr genossen. Unsere Mädels haben die Pferde in der Nachbarschaft immer wieder besucht und die große Schaukel auf dem Gelände genutzt. Unser Sohn hat einen Staudamm im Fluss direkt neben dem Haus gebaut, die Wiese zum Fußballspielen genutzt und oft Feuer im Kamin gemacht. Unsere Vermieter, die direkt nebenan wohnen, sind sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Das Haus ist schön eingerichtet und auch mit unseren drei Kindern sehr großzügig. Kleines Manko: Die Internetverbindung (egal ob WLAN oder mobile Daten) ist sehr „Tagesform abhängig“. An einigen Tagen war diese gut, an anderen sehr schlecht. We are keen salmon fishers who have visited the area for about 30 years and decided to switch our priorities and live in the place we love to visit and visit our former life in the Cotswolds. We are still exploring our local area but have been impressed with all the facilities that are on offer.

This is the perfect location for a highland retreat, but has the advantage of being only 3 miles from civilisation! When you wake up in the morning to the sound of the Burn, the peace and tranquillity is perceptible. The cottage is set in 6 acres of land providing that feeling of a rural escape!

Peace and tranquillity - just 3 miles from Aberfeldy offering shops , restaurants and eateries, cinema and sporting and leisure facilities.
Easy traveling distance to several famous fishing beats on the Tay and Tummel. Stalking on Rannoch moor. Skiing and Snowboarding at Glenshee.
Perth c34 miles away, Pitlochry c 17 miles away.
Several whisky distilleries offering tours and tastings including Dewar's, Blair Athol and Edradour
The property is situated within a c 6 acre smallholding with rare Hebridean Soay sheep who lambed at the end April and first weeks of May so we now have 10 lambs, 3 rams and 10 ewes and 13 free ranging hens
