Beautiful Sintra cottage

Well maintained peaceful location close to downtown Sintra. Hosts were fantastic. Provided fresh baking when we arrived and other food items. We loved our stay in this quaint cottage. Outside private garden area was wonderful.

Family Stay

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here in what felt like a retreat in the mystical Sintra. It was spacious, comfy, quiet and within walking distance of so many beautiful sites, restaurants and shops. We had a car and it was a bit tricky trying to find a parking spot, but we managed to and then did not need to drive anywhere in Sintra (only when we took day trips elsewhere). Would recommend this VRBO and appreciated the kind and helpful hosts.

Phenomenal location. Lovely host. The garden and the gardener who is her mother was exceptional. Lovely lemon cake was left for us along with some snacks. There are no screens on the windows and doors and it can get musty if you do not open the windows. Beautiful short walk to town with the sun setting made it so special. Authentic Sentra experience.

Charming

We enjoyed our stay at Casa De Jasmin, it’s a charming guest house with everything we needed. We were left a lovely welcome gift of wine, cake, bread and cheese which we really enjoyed after a very long journey from the US. Our hostesses were delightful, and attentive. It is very close to the center of Sintra historic downtown area just a bit of an uphill climb.

Très bien situé proche du centre de Sintra.

Une fois l’auto stationnée , le logement permet un accès facile à toutes les activités. Les hôtesses sont très accueillantes et nous avons apprécié les petites attentions pour le déjeuner du premier matin.

Nice home in Sintra

We enjoyed our stay at this home that is a short 10-minute walk to the center of the historic town center of Sintra. Please note that it is downhill from the town center. The hosts were friendly and very helpful! I recommend this home for anyone that wants to stay near the town center.

Our Own Cottage

We loved "our own cottage" and it was only a 5-10 minute walk to the old town where we found great places to eat and drink, and a welcome center to help us with excursions. Our hosts were outstanding. All the right touches, everything we needed, lots of good information and Grandma even made a fresh apple crumble to welcome us. A tray of ham, cheese, bread, butter, jam and a small bottle of local wine were waiting for us after our long trip. We miss it already and we highly recommend this property.

Sintra Villa

Good Location and price, plenty of room for 2, friendly hosts. I would recommend. One suggestion, do not put out the "welcome cake" until the guests arrive, there were ants on the cake and table and we thew away the cake and cleaned off the dinning table. The rest of the place was clean.

the cottage in Sintra was very clean and comfortable for the three of us. we were able to walk into the village for meals in the small cafes and restaurants and it was a reasonable drive to the beaches and other attractions. the hosts are very kind and accommodating and made our stay extra special.

Enchanting accommodation.

Upon arrival ..the owner opened the distinctive blue gate, ..we walked through a beautiful little garden to our private house..and were welcomed inside to homemade custard pudding, delicious cheese and a bottle of wine. Just down the hill from historic centre. We came from Hawai’i to join up with our friends from Paris and enjoyed our time at the house together and the ability to access the local sites easily. Quiet, private and comfortable

This is a wonderful little spot in Sintra. It’s a short walk into historic part of town (although uphill) , we were able to do it just fine with our 2year old. Our hosts met us at the gate and although they were in the main house while we were there, we felt as though we had complete privacy, but also someone around if we needed anything. I highly recommend staying here when in Sintra.

The scent of Jasmine and a view of the mountains

This was a charming and cozy little house that provided my daughter and I with a relaxing home base for our treks up the mountains of Sintra. We appreciated the homemade bread, pastry, cheese and meat tray waiting for us on arrival. Isabel was a lovely and thoughtful hostess who went out of her way to make us welcome. Americans needs to be aware that there are washing machines in Portugal and Spain, but no clothes dryers, so be prepared to hang your clothes and pack things that dry quickly! Also, there is a lot of uphill walking involved in getting to and from the village from the house, so bring your sturdy shoes.

Wonderful experience

The cottage was charming, very spacious and well appointed. It is located on a quiet street near the town center and many lovely restaurants. Beatriz and her mother are excellent hosts. We were able to park on a side street nearby. We highly recommend this location.

Bonita mas pouco respirável

A Casa do Jasmim está muito bem decorada; nota-se que foi decorada com gosto. Está também muito bem localizada, mesmo no centro histórico de Sintra. Gostei do gesto e da simpatia das proprietárias ao nos oferecerem um doce típico caseiro como boas-vindas e do ambiente recatado do pequeno jardim que a casa oferece. Em contrapartida, a Casa do Jasmim falha no que diz respeito a salubridade, pois a humidade e o mofo que a casa tem deixam o ar quase irrespirável. Vê-se a humidade nas paredes e nota-se que as paredes foram pintadas para disfarçar. A casa merece e precisa de obras para resolver este problema. Não conseguimos descansar devidamente durante a noite por causa do cheiro a mofo instalado na casa nem conseguimos cozinhar, pois vê-se que a limpeza que é feita à Casa é superficial, pois ao mexer nos cortinados do quarto, no biombo, no roupeiro e nos decors da cozinha, há uma camada de pó importante. Independentemente da simpatia das proprietárias, certamente que não vou voltar.

Excellent séjour.

Avec un accueil chaleureux et plein de préventions avec à l'arrivée un plat pour le soir , un excellent crumble pommes et cannelle, croissants et pain pour le petit déjeuner... nous avons passé un très bon séjour. Cette location très bien située nous a permis de faire de très belles visites sur place et de laisser se reposer la voiture de location pour nous rendre à Lisbonne en train . La gare n'est pas très loin ! Nous avons apprécié la gentillesse et la conversation de nos deux hôtes avant le départ autour d'un café et de très bons petits gâteaux .Une adresse à retenir ! Une maison tres agreable, joliment decorée, tres bien aménagée , dans une propriété ou vit la propriétaire; Tres disponible, elle repond a toutes nos questions dans un français parfait. En plus, un bon vin et du fromage delicieux nous attendaient a notre arrivée ! nous nous sommes regalés; La maison est tres propre, et dispose de tous les equipements necessaires. Nous nous sommes sentis comme chez nous, tout a fait en securité...bref, allez y les yeux fermés. Sintra est une ville merveilleuse, et nous vous recommandons la visite des chateaux de la regaleira et pena bien sur... Donc pour repondre aux questions de homelidays : oui la description est precise, la location est parfaitement propre et entretenue, la proprietaire présente et de bon conseil et nous la recommandons a nos amis !

"Really nice and very com...

"Really nice and very comfortable location in the old town of Sintra. Very quied, but closed to the towncenter, only a 5 minutes walk to the praca republica. We stayed there in Januari, the evenings where chilly. But the house was a perfect heated by the very nice woodburning stove. We enyoyed it very much, sitting at the fire. Beatriz and Isabel did install some more electric heating , but we only used it in the early morning Kitchen very well equippedPots,pans,coffemachine,watercooker,toaster everything perfect. Wireles internet perfect. Free parking on the street,not difficult to find a parkingplace,sometimes we had to walk 30-50 meters. Beds very comfortable. The only thing is we stayed not long enough, to see the many things of Sintra. So we have to come back. Oh.. i forgot the wonderfull breakfast the first morning. "
