This is a two-story apartment, attached to a large house (unoccupied during our stay). The grounds are a bit neglected, but this didn't interfere with our stay. There's also a small apartment behind the garage that was rented during part of our stay, but we rarely saw the occupants. This was a great location, on top of a hill surrounded by desert, with great views of the Catalina Mountains but minutes from hiking, shopping. The kitchen is well equipped, but there's very little counter space, so meal preparation is challenging. We lived outside under the covered patio during the day--ate all our meals at the picnic table there, and read in the comfortable chairs provided. We didn't use the dining area, with it's somewhat formal dining room table. We loved the upstairs, very comfortable chairs, and bed. We don't watch much TV so the limited channel offerings didn't bother us. There is a shelf of dvd's to watch. We appreciated the electric shutters that allowed us to control the light so the early morning sun didn't wake us too soon. The small desk next to the large picture window looking out to the mountains, was a convenient place to work and stay in touch with family. Very comfortable bed, and very quiet at night.
The owner is struggling to remove a colony of bees from the roof over the bathroom, so we had the daily task of picking up dying or dead bees in the bathroom and kitchen. We found the owner to be very responsive to our questions.
