Quiet, private, comfortable, pretty, historic.

Very attractive and comfortable private accommodation within easy walking distance of the centre of a lovely old town with all amenities. Our hosts were charming and helpful and Everything Worked!

Delightful cottage

A magical spot in a quiet garden with charming François to make sure all was well. Great location in stunning town filled with history. Very good baker nearby and a small independent cinema just up the road.

Lovely gite in a beautiful large garden

We really enjoyed our week here. The gite is a lovely old building - clean,cosy , peaceful and set in beautiful garden well away from the owners property.It also has good air conditioning for which we were very grateful in some very hot weather!The owner is very frendly and helpful - and made our stay very pleasant indeed.

excellent stay

property was ideal for two of us and provided everything we needed. situation of the gite in a private, large garden was perfect. very quiet and peaceful. the location was ideal for visiting the main areas of interest around Semur. our host was very kind and helpful, and I recommend this property most highly.

Perfect

It was like home away from home enjoyed it very much. Francoise and Marie where wonderful hosts very discreet but there to help if needed. I would really recommend this property we had a three week stay and wished it could have been longer.

Great stay

A warm reception after a seven hour drive. We felt imediatly at home. Lots of privacy. A very nice village with a long history. The surroundings are great, certainly in autumn. We'll be back.

Superb

Property at the end of a secure garden and car secure as within the walled area. Stayed for one week in March and found it delightful. François, the owner, was not omnipresent and we enjoyed every minute of our stay. In the middle of town so shops are close by. Highly recommended.

Excellent

We wanted for nothing in this property, everything was provided. It was in a huge, secluded garden, but the property was separate, and a long way from the main house, so we didn't feel enclosed in any way. We sat/ate outside a lot of the time, and felt that we were a long way from the main house. Samur-en-Auxois was everything we thought it was, and François Meunieur was extremely helpful. 10/10!

Private,secure and great location

Semur is a beautiful, old town with interesting walks, both in the town and down by the river. It also has an excellent, large Intermarché. The surrounding area is easily accessible with medieval villages and lovely, undulating countryside. The Canal de Bourgogne is nearby and bikes can be hired at a reasonable price from the tourist offices in Montbard and Venarey-les-Laumes. The property is ideal for a couple, tucked away privately in the corner of the owner's magnificent garden. It has all the cooking facilities necessary for self catering and a very good wifi connection. The owner, M. Meunier is a very pleasant and helpful gentleman.

Excellent gite in wonderful garden.

We stayed here for a week at the beginning of June and were fortunate enough to have constant sunshine. The patio provided shade at all times of the day and the house remained very cool and comfortable. The upstairs bedroom was spacious and did get hot however the Aircon unit worked well and ensured a comfortable nights sleep. The bed was excellent and firm. An issue for us (because we are in our 70's) was that we had to go downstairs to the bathroom, but we were careful which meant it was not a problem. One of the main positive features was the huge and tranquil garden which was a haven for birds.The property was reached through a double metal electric door where we could drive through the courtyard for completely secure parking. And we were provided with a zapper so that that we could come and go as we pleased. We also were able to access the town through a locked gate in the garden which lead to the street. There were many restaurants within a short walking distance and an Intermarche 5 minutes drive away.The owner (Francois) was extremely helpful and friendly and he was very adept at communicating using Google Translate as our French is rather poor. It was such an advantage having the owners at the other end of the garden and we made friends with their dog, and a few cats. Overall a great week.

Tolles Ferienhaus, gemütlich. Wir hatten leider schlechtes Wetter. Ein befestigter Weg an das Haus wäre toll, dann hätte man nicht schon nasse Füße bis man über die Wiese gelaufen ist. Sonst alles prima, netter Vermieter.

Fantastisch! Het huisje was heel authentiek, schoon, ruim en heerlijk koel met het warme weer. Op de slaapkamer was een airco, ook heel fijn.We werden hartelijk ontvangen door Francois en met behulp van google translate konden we goed met hem communiceren.

Charmante location au calme et dans la verdure, bien située pour visiter la region . Facilite de stationnement dans la rue et accès piéton indépendant. Accueil très sympathique du propriétaire qui s'est montre discret pendant le séjour quoique réactif en cas de besoin.

Un séjour convenable malgré le mauvais temps

Notre but était de visiter musées et châteaux de la région, nous l'avons fait. Malheureusement, nous avons eu mauvais temps avec quelquefois de la pluie, les extérieurs n'ont pas été toujours vus.Le propriétaire a été très accueillant. La conception de la maison n'a pas été parfaitement de notre goût mais nous avons géré le tout pour cette courte période.

Sehr nettes Haus mit tollem Garten, ideal gelegen.

Obwohl nur 5G Minuten vom Stadtzentrum gelegen befindet sich das Haus auf einem riesigen Grundstück (geschätzt 2000 m² Garten), von den üblichen Mauern umgeben, sehr ruhig, gute Betten und sehr nette Vermieter. Eigentlich ist alles vorhanden was man braucht bis hin zur Garten liegen und Gartenstühlen/Tisch etc. etc. das Bad ist relativ klein aber völlig okay, die Treppe zum Schlafzimmer im ersten Stock relativ steil, War aber für uns (Ende 60) völlig okay. Auto Parkplatz innerhalb des Geländes auch vorhanden. Was will man mehr?Und der Empfang war auch sehr freundlich und herzlich! Danke noch mal an das sehr nette Vermieter Ehepaar!

Ruhe und Erholung

Schöne sehr ruhige Lage mit ausreichender Infrastruktur. Ausgangspunkt für schöne Ausflüge in die Umgebung, Morvan und Dijon und das Kloster Fontenay seien hier beispielhaft genannt. Wer Ruhe und Erholung sucht und gerne wandern mag ist hier gut aufgehoben.

Gemütliches kleines Häuschen

Das Haus ist sehr treffend beschrieben und fotografiert. Es liegt am Ende eines großen Gartens sehr ruhig und privat. Man kann zu Fuß in ein paar Minuten in die Stadt laufen. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt!
