My teenager and I stayed in this apartment for 13 nights. I picked it for the location, which is walking distance to son’s language school and to the historic center.
For our needs, it was fine but nothing special. The biggest problem was that the landlords presented me with a contract to sign when I first arrived and asked for a 300 euro cash deposit. Given that I was hot, exhausted and didn’t have any other options for places to stay in that area, I agreed and signed — even though there should not be a separate contract outside the VRBO agreement.
And then I later realized that this contract was different than one they had sent me when they first accepted the booking request and that in the second contract, they had added that I was responsible for utilities (electricity and water) and a deposit. They also expected me to clean the place myself before leaving or I could pay an additional 50 euros in cash.
I’ve rented dozens of places in numerous countries and I always straighten up and take out trashbut have never been expected to do a thorough clean. That should be handled by professionals.
Other negatives: old, low quality furniture/towels/bedding materials/appliances (eg wobbly, nearly broken chairs and gross kitchen appliances that look as if they have never been cleaned), a door downstairs always propped open with a rock.
Positives: convenient location, good shower, two AC units, decent natural light with large windows, reliable wifi and quiet neighbors
