We stayed for 2 weeks and enjoyed every day. The villa is quite private and not really overlooked, though there is an empty property behind the villa. As mentioned in a few reviews there are dogs in the area, in two directions but the barking is not constant and during our stay, we were not awoken by any barking during the night. In addition to the dogs somebody within the area also has cockerels and even a Peacock.
The villa is well equipped with everything a normal family would need. The fridge/freezer is plenty large enough to store what you need. Along with the washing machine, there is an outdoor airer and also a line for drying clothes, Apart from the dining table in the main room , there are 3 other areas to eat outdoors, including a table within the fly screen area which is ideal for eating at night. The pool has an outdoor shower to rinse off under before entering and there is also another table and chairs next to the pool.
Albox itself appears a quiet town, but does have 3 major supermarkets (Lidl, Dia and Mercadona) as well as a number of banks and coffee shops and a BP petrol station. Using tripadvisor, we found a number of nice restaurants in the area, though some are difficult to find and in unusual settings (Meson de Irene is an industrial unit next to the Estación ITV but has great food at a reasonable set price).
A warning far Garmin SatNav users, Even though I had updated my SatNav with the latest European maps, it did have problems navigating around Albox and was always insisting that I needed to go through Almanzora to get to Albox which is not the case.
We would definitely recommend this to anybody wanting a relaxing break in a not too tourist filled area.
