We are a family of 8 (which include 3 grandchildren). We love outdoor activities Door County has to offer - hiking, kayaking, biking, climbing, swimming, antiquing, and exploring. Our home is filled with antiques, folk art and original oil paintings. We continually add special touches to the home. On the outside of the house under each of the eves are hand carved finials.
I grew up in Northwest Illinois and vacationed in Wisconsin with my sisters and brother. We always loved the water and outdoor activites. As children, my kids loved playing on the beach or in the woods. As they have grown, they still do the same - it's a place to be young again! The grandchildren are following in the same foot steps, by enjoying the water, learning about and appreciating nature. My dogs love swimming and running on the beach - it is their favorite part of coming up to Whitefish Bay.
The Prancing Pony has become a special place where our family gathers to get away, explore, play games, do crafts, cook and laugh A LOT! There are several hiking trails accessible on foot from the home, including a trail into Whitefish Bay Dunes State Park at the end of the deadend street, Old Baldy (with wooden platforms and a overlook platform), incrediable single track biking trails near the home, and kayaking right from the pier (4 doors down).
