The region - Cas Abou is surrounded by the Banda Abou region of our dushi Curacao! Along with the best isolated and/or serviced beaches on the island there are plenty of eating options including local, international and fine. It's the undiscovered gem of under-the-radar Curacao! Real-deal Caribbean without the tourists and traffic.

The neighborhood - Cas Abou is an established, exclusive local and international neighborhood. It's focus is on tranquility, nature and privacy. It's not an "up and coming" neighborhood. It's a well kept secret and we've already arrived! Cas Abou is centrally located half-way between the village of Westpunt and downtown/airport. You are surrounded by the best beaches on the island! WITHOUT ALL THE TOURISTS AND TRAFFIC

The cottage - New seaside, salt water, infinity-edged, cocktail pool is ready! Very exciting upgrade to the property! With shaded lounge area right on the sea!
Cliff-high, private sunsets over the Caribbean 365 sets-a-year!

ANOTHER upgrade as of winter 2023-24! Additional 300ft2 of deck over the sea! Newly tiled (out with the wood and in with the tile!) and another palapa area! Take your pick and work out those tan lines OR stay in the shade!

300 ft2 inside, 300 ft2 covered terrace and 450 ft2 open deck - all one level. Private front yard sitting garden and sea-level shaded lounge and salt water splash pool. Private steps into the sea! Purely natural and purely private!

On the side of this property is an exceptionally wonderful little beach, about a 60-second walk. And on the other end of our short street?? ANOTHER rarely used beach!

AND top-ten Cas Abou beach is right around the corner! To keep yoiu comfortable, we've got 2 nice beach chairs, beach matt and a cooler (with freezer packs) so you don't have to rent those either! We love caring for our guests!

Absolutely unique on the entire island! Seaside cottage perfect for a single or a couple wanting to enjoy raw nature in privacy. Built with tile deck, shaded terrace with day bed ON by the sea. Established native, professional gardens. Full a/c when the breeze isn't blowing, indoor and outdoor ceiling fans, gas stove, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, counter top oven, fridge/freezer... And gas grill!

Local and owner created art throughout the property!

Feel the trade winds, listen to the sea and enjoy being part of one of the best, and private, natural settings on the island! Walk down the steps right to your private house reef for swimming, snorkeling, diving or just for a beer and a float! This healthy reef has amazing biodiversity with soft/hard corals close to the surface for snorkelers and mixed topography deeper for SCUBA. Often referred to by guests as the best snorkeliing/diving on the island! Did you just walk right past the infinity edged salt water pool?!! Fresh sea water pumps in twice a day! Time your dip properly and enjoy the infinity-edged waterfall! Huh? What?! WOW!

This cottage is simply spectacular! It's all about getting back to nature. Sunrise walks with flamingos, parrots, pelicans, frigates, trupials, songbirds and the ocassional osprey!... Get rid of your tan lines in privacy...Swim/snorkel/dive/kayak explore beaches and back roads during the day...Meals outside in the breeze, world class sunsets and at night...Enjoy unbelievable moonscapes and watch constellations cross the sky! Unbelievable!

For your morning swim, snorkel, kayak or dive just head down the steps and there you are! Isolated beach borders one side of property, another isolated beach just a short swim (or 2-min walk) the other direction and world class Cas Abou beach for those who enjoy a longer swim (or 2 minute car drive). Enjoy your coffee in the breeze as the pelicans pass by. This cottage is pure relaxation (stay connected with fast wireless. No TV!)

Just got home and can't say enough good things about this property and the hosts. Private and comfortable, a chance to unwind and relax in nature. Listen to the waves rush in and out, the birds singing and after dark the geckos call. Far from the mad world.

The location, view, amenities, and layout were absolutely fantastic! The location was perfect for accessing all of Curacao. Our hosts gave us some great recommendations and though we were not able to do everything, we definitely enjoyed those we did.

An amazing property! It was a mother/daughter trip and we couldn't have had a better place to stay. The view, and ocean access were better than we could have hoped! Snorkelling in front of the villa was terrific. Private salt water pool was a great place for a quick cool off and we spent a lot of time on the big patio. Short drive to many beaches and great restaurants. And we enjoyed a beautiful hike with Angie. Don and Angie were very accommodating hosts who worked with our schedules, were always easy to reach and gave us great recommendations in the area. The community was nice and quiet and we felt very safe. Would highly recommend this villa! Every time we looked out over the ocean it was hard to believe it was all ours :)

As a solo female traveler, I’ll first say that I felt incredibly safe at all times. The cottage is in a quiet, gated community with upscale homes. Don and Angie were the perfect hosts! I took advantage of the pre-stocked grocery service, which means I was able to drive straight from the airport, grab a drink from the fridge, and enjoy the AMAZING VIEWS from the very private patio. I had a front row seat for the most incredible sunsets and rainbows. Next up, snorkeling. What a treat to be able to walk down a few steps and straight into the most beautiful turquoise waters. With a reef just to the left, I saw so many coral and fish! A little to the right of the cottage, I saw a sea turtle and even an eel! The only “downside” to this is that the snorkeling at all the other beaches I visited paled in comparison when the best snorkeling was right out my back door! Lastly, the cottage is primarily an open air concept by day, which is fine because you won’t be in the cottage! Everything closes up at night and the AC is nice and cool. If you’re debating booking this cottage, just do it. It’s the perfect spot to do absolutely nothing but stare at the sea and/or the perfect home base for exploring the rest of this beautiful island.

Incredible views!

We had an amazing stay at Ba-ooo! The ocean views were awesome! It was great waking up to the view and lots of birds visiting. The location couldn’t be beat to tour the west side of the island. However the best snorkeling was just off the property and to the left towards Cas Abou. Don and Angie were great. We’d definitely stay here again.

This property is exactly as advertised, and we join those who rated it so highly. Indoors you have all you need, kitchen with all amenities, good AC, comfy bed. But it's outside that makes it special. A huge, beautiful deck with elevated views of clear ocean water and the most memorable sunsets. If you like snorkeling, this is perfect spot. Private steps down to the ocean, put on your mask and jump in. No tourists, super clear visibility, plenty of colorful fish. When you're done there's a refreshing saltwater plunge pool where you'll want to enjoy a cocktail or 2. The hosts, Angie and Don will give you so much information you'll know every restaurant, beach, snorkeling spot and place to shop on the island. Expect answers in minutes by email should you need anything. Despite all the places to go on Curacao, you won't want to leave this place. Secluded and perfect for a couple that truly wants to get away from it all. Yeah, we'll be back.

RC! We appreciate it when new friends really get to relax at the cottages! It's true Curacao has a lot of fun things to do but...first you have to pull yourselves away from the cottage! Amazing cottage! Amazing people.

Our stay was so wonderful. Angie was amazing the entire time if we needed anything. Some of the best snorkeling is right at the cottage.

Perfect Place to Get Away From it All

Beautiful location. Watched sunsets every night, perfect weather, peaceful. Enjoyed our stay very much. Don was accessible and his place had everything we needed. If you need some downtime stay here.

Beautiful bungalow

It was such a special experience my husband planned for my 40th birthday. The bungalow was so neat, with local art and eclectic touches. Dons place is the best lot in the subdivision. I enjoyed my morning coffee with the sunrise, the private chef Don reconnected to my husband for birthday dinner and swimming from our place to the beach around the corner.

Perfect Location and Excellent Communication

This is the oerfect location for snorkeling/swimming. Calm crystal clear water! Don was awesome to work with and communicates well! We had a blast!

Fantastic location

This small cottage is just what you need when you want to relax in a private way. No children, just the sounds of the waves and the birds. And those views! Everything you need is there. Don't expect luxury here though, but what else do you need? Finally, Don and Angie are so helpful in making your stay wonderful. Thank you!

Hello Holland! Folks that want that luxury can enjoy the private chef service, private massages, salt water infinity pool on the sea, private steps directly into the sea etc...OR, they can enjoy our much larger sister cottage that you had a look at. Different strokes for different folks and we have all the service options that folks can either take advantage of or not. It's all in our info materials. Champagne, honeymoon set-up on arrival? Stocked fridge? Private SCUBA, snorkel, land guides? Sure! People enjoy those things all the time. We like to leave it up to the guests! Very glad to hear you enjoyed those incredible views from your private palapa on the sea! Enjoy a great New Year!

Best views on the island

We were so pleased with our entire Stay. Don was super communicative before and during our stay. He provided an entire list of things to see and do which cut out hours of research as this was our first time here. We visited so many beautiful beaches, but both agree that the snorkeling and view from the property were the best of anywhere on the island. We rented a car and did so much exploring. One of our favorite vacations of all time. I can not say enough about this property and our experience.

Paradise!

We had an incredible stay at Ba-ooo. The views from the deck were breathtaking and the perfect spot to watch the tropical birds and the sunsets. The decor and artistic detail put into the cottage was beautiful. The cottage was well stocked with everything we needed for our stay. We also enjoyed using the lower deck palapa and pool area. It was great to have some of the best snorkeling right at our doorstep. Don was very helpful and all of his restaurant, hiking and sight-seeing recommendations were spot-on. We can't wait to return!

Ba-ooo. We have been having a lot of fun with upgrades at Ba-ooo and are glad to hear you enjoy that salt water seaside pool and palapa! Amazing oceanfront bungaloo in Curacao

My wife and I just returned from Curacao after a week stay at this amazing oceanfront cottage. First, the pictures do not do it justice. All pictures are accurate. It is directly on the water. The oceanfront plunge pool was great and we watched multiple sunsets from there. We did scuba diving right off the property and saw 2 octopi, squids, numerous fish and eels. The place was perfect size of us, king size bed, shower with great water pressure (a plus for me), and a full kitchen. The host was very communicative. Gave great recommendations.Would highly recommend.

Beautiful!

This is a special place. The view from the deck is amazing; it feels as if you are floating above the water. Don and Angie are terrific hosts who were available for anything we needed. The cottage is well equipped and comfortable. Don provided a great information packet that was an invaluable guide to hiking, eating, and beaches. And the beaches — fabulous! We went to a different beach everyday and they were all so wonderful. If you are looking for crystal clear blue water, great and easy snorkeling, peace and quiet away from crowds and resorts, this is your place!

Heaven on Earth

The property was truly paradise. We enjoyed every moment of our stay. The house and the outside living space was perfect for two people. The views from the patio were beyond magnificent. We enjoyed 2 morning hikes with Angie. We loved exploring this beautiful island with her. She shared so much interesting information with us. Prior to our arrival, Don provided us with detail information, extremely helpful. Don was very quick to respond to any need that may arise, no matter how small. Don and Angie are fabulous hosts. We parted with so many fond memories. We highly recommend this property to other quests.

Great and Quiet Stay

What can I say...what a great play to stay! Don was a great host and very helpful but the highlight is the location and the house. It is in a beautiful location with AMAZING views, it has a private plunge pool, it has a private deck, and private Palapa! What is not to love! The house is within a easy drive to a lot of great beaches but it was nice to just come back at the end of the day and sit on the deck and watch the waves. ***On what could be purely preference, I do wish the bed was a bit softer but otherwise we loved our stay and defiantly would stay there again or at one of Don's other locations!***

Glad you enjoyed your stay! It really is one of the most unique locations on the island...private, couples only and focused on nature and the sea! Unbeatable! In regards to the mattress, we go with a king sized, semi-posturepedic for all of our cottages with additional comforters on each of them. BUT, did you know that when it's brought to our attention that the mattress isn't in line with what's best for the guests....we keep additional foam comforters to make your stay the way you want it. When we know something we like nothing more than to take care of it! That's our professional dedication to your holiday! International teacher, volunteer and small entrepreneur for 25 years...After 9 years in China I decided I wanted to see a real sunset again and moved to Curacao to teach history and philosophy. Started diving again and fell in love with the island, bought a property and built a little cottage for the first time in my life. It's been a special journey and I like to share it. Introducing people to Curacao and, specifically, to Banda Abou is a very fun part of my life. This is a special place with an incredible unspoiled natural vibration that you wake up to and when the moon is right or the breeze hits you properly it can make for a magical, magical experience!
