We had high expectations for the Hummingbird Villa and it managed to exceed them all.
Property:
The villa is even more gorgeous than it appears in the pictures. You have a great ocean view. The pool is perfectly clean and a great temperature -- we spent a lot of time in it. You have tons of seating options, both in and out of the sun, and there are lots of appliances for you to use.
Location:
I really liked the location. Firstly, it's in a gated community with an entrance that seems to be monitored 24/7. Inside the community, you can walk down to the beach in about 10 minutes. I believe the beach has artificial sand, but it's absolutely beautiful. If you want to enjoy nightlife every night, you may prefer staying closer to Mambo Beach, but if you want a more secluded vacation, and access to better beaches, the location of this villa is great. And you can easily make day trips to the city as we did -- it's about a 30 minute drive away.
Air Conditioning:
The AC units are only in the bedrooms, but I believe that's pretty standard for Curacao. We were there in October, and it was definitely hot, but that's what the pool is for!
Communication:
The property manager, Brigitte, was great! Very friendly and easy to communicate with.
Cons:
We had some issues using a couple of the appliances (the beer keg and the espresso machine). These issues were totally insignificant in the grand scheme of things and we would visit the villa again in a heartbeat!
