We stayed here as two families and had an amazing time. It’s perfect with kids.The owners are super friendly and helpful. They even cooked us something for arrival day and snack in between.Amazing service as the house was also cleaned during our stay.

The property was lovely. The family greeted us And sent us off. They were so very kind and generous. Everything was clean and we had everything we needed. It was a little hard getting used to european plumbing, but other than that it was perfect. Highly reccommend.

We had the most amazing stay at this beautiful villa — it exceeded all our expectations. The property is incredibly spacious, set in stunning surroundings that made for a truly relaxing getaway. The private pool was absolutely incredible, and the separate BBQ house made outdoor dining a real highlight of our trip.From the moment we arrived, everything was taken care of. We were welcomed with a delicious hot meal of Pastitsio and a fresh Greek salad, which was such a thoughtful touch. Midweek, we were treated again to fresh local tomatoes and feta on the most delicious bread. The villa was cleaned mid-stay, with bedding and towels refreshed, keeping everything feeling comfortable and cared for.Emma and her family, our hosts, were fantastic — always available, super helpful, and nothing was ever too much trouble. She offered great restaurant recommendations and even helped with making reservations, which made things so easy for us.The surrounding area is charming, with plenty of little shops, bakeries, tavernas, and cafés to explore. A car is recommended for getting around, but taxi services are available, and food deliveries can be arranged if you’d rather stay in.We genuinely struggled to find a single fault — everyone in our group agreed this was the best villa we’ve ever stayed in. We wouldn’t hesitate to return and can’t recommend it highly enough.

A fabulous villa for several reasons.The owner Emma and her parents whose home this was, were exceptional hosts. Emma communicated directly with us from start to finish by WhatsApp or SMS. We were greeted on arrival with a home made Greek pasta dish which lasted us 2 days! Any questions we had were answered promptly and effectively. Emma is very conscientious. They changed the bed linen and gave the villa a clean twice in a fortnight. The villa itself was exactly as described and even better! We appreciated the veranda area which is huge, and can be isolated from the pool area by a lockable gate. There is plenty of play things for children of all ages. The pool was not cold and extremely well maintained with daily cleaning. AC worked well, used at night. The BBQ house is enormous and kitted out with everything needed including a fridge and washing facilities plus toilet. It was lovely to hear the bells tinkling on the sheep on the hillside around the villa. It’s only a few minutes to local shops by car but you feel as if you are in rural Crete. The views from the veranda especially the sunset in June magnificent. Not may mosquitos in the evenings either. It’s a good position as plenty of lovely places to see and it’s not far to cross to the south side of the island from the villa.

Beautiful!

This villa has excellent facilities and plenty of room for our family of 5. But would easily accommodate up to 10. The owners were so amazing which made the whole holiday and experience even better. Emma helped us with any requests and went above and beyond with a welcome dinner as we arrived very late at night. As well as a hamper of goodies and even some supplies for breakfast the next day. I was worried that as the listing doesn’t say the pool is heated that, I wouldn’t be going in much because I hate being cold. But it was actually really pleasant and I was soo happy to be able to swim every day with the kids. Couldn’t recommend this villa enough!! We have already discussed a return in the future. And we never normally want to return to places as we like to experience new places each time we travel. Thank you so much for an amazing stay. See you again. Kindest regards Hannah and family

Wonderful family location

We are an extended family party of 8. The property is spacious, well equipped and very clean. The facilities are excellent with all amenities and equipment needed. The pool are in particular is really lovely and the children loved the slide into the pool, basketball net, table tennis table and table football. There are plenty of sunbeds and lots of options for shade. We were met on arrival and the owners are extremely attentive throughout with fruit and a delicious home made Pastiitsio waiting for us together with fruit. On two other occasions some lovely food was prepared for us. Within walking distance is Christos, a great local taverner with great food very reasonably priced. 8 of us ate there , with drinks for around 120 euros all in. The local bakery is great and both deliver free if needed. We had a car, which is definitely needed and ventured out to sight seeing and beaches frequently, although you could just as easily stay around the pool. The separate outdoor kitchen and dining area is great. if we had one observation it would be to perhaps include a standard cooker/hob too complement the BBQ and wood over, but that did. nit detract from our stay at all. Would definitely recommend.

Best Hosts and a great villa for a family vacation

We were a group of 3 generations 9 months, mid 30 till mid 40 and the grandparents older than 70. We were looking a long time for the right place to stay to cover all the needs to have a great vacation. We wanted a view, a pool, a outdoor kitchen, enough space for everybody, aircondition and a ping pong table. This villa had everything and even more. The hosts were so heardwarming friendly people and did everything to make our trip perfect. They had a fresh cooked meal ready when we arrived there, brought us a desert after a couple of days and bought a floating swim ring specially for the baby. we asked for outdoor pillows for the wooden chairs outside, Emma the host was so sorry that there was nothing and a few days later Emmas father left 6 new pillows for the chairs in the BBQ house for us… Soo cute!! So there is nothing to complain about everything was perfect if I have to think of anything its just the ping pong table that is not really usable for serious players because it s not all smooth anymore, I guess because ofbeeing washed in the rain a few times, but that is the only thing. So if you want to have a great vacation in a perfect space with absolutely privacy and beeing hosted by a lovely kind and heardwarming family, thats the one!!! Thank you Emma to you and you family

Sehr schöne Villa in top Lage

Es gibt kaum Punkte die zu bemängeln sind. Die Villa liegt in einer top Lage. Kurze Anfahrtswege zu Geschäften oder Strände. Zum Bummeln nur ca 10 min. Fahrzeit. Die Eigentümer sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Kleine Mängel wurden umgehend behoben. Für unsere Enkel 5 und 8 war es ein Paradies auch wenn der "grosse Spielplatz " nur bedingt nutzbar ist. Leider sind die Hunde in der Nachbarschaft nachts sehr kommunikativ. Der Kontakt mit der Agentur und Vermieter war perfekt. Nur zu empfehlen.

Villa Acorn - vi kommer gärna tillbaka!

Helt fenomenal upplevelse! Vi var tre familjer (6 vuxna, 4 barn) som spenderade en vecka i denna underbara villa. Upplevde stället som ännu bättre än vad bilderna kanske visar. Poolhuset (med extra kyl+frys) och grillarna användes verkligen. Poolen ej uppvärmd men det behövdes verkligen inte (var ca 25 grader på mornarna och 28 på eftermiddagarna). Stora utomhusterrasser med stort bord på hjul som gör att man kan sitta där man behagar. Mycket vacker utsikt över berg och hav. Villan inbäddad i grönska. Ett stort plus var mottagandet där vi bjöds på varm, hemlagad mat, välkomstkorg med frukt, kakor, lite sötsaker till barnen. Mitt i veckan städades villan och då hade Emmas (ägarens) mamma Afrodite bakat supergoda fetaostknyten mm. Vid avresa fick samtliga familjer en egen liten presentpåse med klubbor till barnen, lite lokal dryck samt en fin mugg med Villa Acorn som motiv. Vi fick alltid snabb hjälp om vi önskade eller frågade om något. Rekommenderar denna villa varmt och tänker att man mer än gärna kommer tillbaka!

Fantastic Stay in Crete

The villa was absolutely fantastic - the photos don’t do justice to the inside and beautiful outdoor space. It was perfect for us with young children. The hosts were so welcoming. Etouri were great and made an excellent hire car recommendation and communicated really well with us before and during our stay. Highly recommended and would definitely visit again!

Incredible villa and host

First time to this part of Crete and we have nothing but positives to say about Acorn Villa and Emma and her family. Very welcoming, helpful and care so much about making sure we had a great time without being intrusive. Highly recommend.

Wonderful Stay

We have just returned from a 2 week holiday at the villa, 4 adults and 4 children. The villa is great - clean and well equipped with lots of space and different areas to relax so even as a big group you don't feel on top of one another. The pool was cleaned regularly and kept nice and sparkling. Emma and her mother were superb hosts - arranging for weekly cleaning and providing wonderful homemade treats. Emma was also super helpful in suggesting restaurants and making reservations which made life very easy. It's a short drive to Rethymno which has a lovely atmosphere (especially in the evening) and a wide variety of restaurants. Local to the villa we were able to walk to Christos Taverna which provided lovely meals and a friendly service at reasonable prices. The outside bbq kitchen was a particular highlight and we enjoyed several evenings eating there. The Etouri agency was helpful and efficient and assisted with booking car hire and airport transfers - we were very grateful to have the opportunity to enjoy a complimentary day at the Beach Club on our last day after check out. Thank you everyone for a wonderful holiday!

Villa Acorn - beautiful villa!

My husband and I were alone in the villa and had an amazing time. We did not want to leave. It is totally secluded, which made for a relaxing holiday but there are a couple of great places to eat and drink in the tiny town within walking distance. The owners and booking agents were both readily available and extremely helpful. The villa has everything you could need inside and has an amazing outdoor space and a fantastic pool area. Great stay at Villa Acorn.

We had a great stay at Villa Acorn. The hosts were fantastic, they were always available for any questions we had. They greeted us with a very nice homemade meal and a bottle of wine, that was very sweet of them. The villa is very pleasant, the pool is of a perfect size and always kept clean. The gardens are beautiful, very well taken care of. The villa's location was perfect for us... 10 minutes away from the town of Rethymno and some beaches and an hour away from the beautiful beaches in the south... and if we wanted a quick bite to grab close by, we could just walk to Christo's taverna, that serves great home made cretan food.

Perfect place for family holiday

We have rented many holiday houses, this house is among the absolutely best experiences. IWe can really recommend it for families with children. The reality is better than pictures (which i seldom). The family who owns it is extremely nice and helpful. There is a lot of space. many activities basketball, tabeltennis, table soccer etc. No neighbors. Close to city/shops. We will indeed come back again some time in future :)

Beautiful house in a remote area but still close to everything

We stayed in the house for 10 nights and absolutely loved it and hated to go back home. When you are in the house it feels that you are in a very remote area but this is not the case. The closest village is about a 2minute drive and Rethimnon is only a 10 minute drive. The house is beautiful and has all the amenities you would need to have a perfect holiday. The pool is really well maintained by the owner (he comes to clean it every morning). Additionally the surroundings of the house are really pretty as well. From your sitting area you will the see olive and vineyards as well as a the sea. The owners of the house are very hospitable. Upon arrival we got some home made Greek meal as well as some fruits and wine. On the day before departure they catered another meal which was really nice. The area of Rethimnon offers a lot of things to do and see. 10 days were not sufficient to see the area as well as the island. Thank you Emma and family for the wonderful stay you were all very hospitable (including the two little dogs Cici en Lady as well as Tommie the cat) we will definitely come back. Excellent family holiday

We had a fantastic stay in acorn villa, 2 families of 4, adults, teenagers and young children. Location was great, not very far to local tavernas and shops. Just a short journey to Rethmyno. Our host Emma had a fantastic home cooked meal ready on our arrival even though after midnight! Etouri were also very helpful with helping us organise days out etc during our stay. I would thoroughly recommend, the house is beautiful, the location great and hosts and rental company absolutely first class!

perfecte vakantie in ACORN VILLA

Schitterende villa met alles op en aan. Fantastische eigenaars die zich volledig inzetten voor het welslagen van onze vakantie. We werden overladen met cadeaus en allerlei tips. De hygiëne was voortreffelijk en we voelden er ons de koning te rijk. Eén minpunt : de voorgestelde excursies door Robert (Etouri) zijn onwaarschijnlijk duur. Zo werd ons voorgesteld voor een navette naar de Samaria kloof heen en terug voor 450 euro. We losten het anders op !

Wonderful House!!!

My family and I just returned from this fabulous property! The location was perfect, a short drive from great beaches and the lovely town of Rethymno. The house was super clean, and a great place to unwind with family. It was decorated so nicely and had all the ammenities we could ask for. The pool and slide was a big hit. Adorable little dogs too!

Tolle Villa in der perfekten Lage

Wir waren 2 Familien mit 4 Kindern. Wir wurden sehr freundlich von Emma und ihrer Familie begrüßt (per Telefon auch von der Agentur), auch die Betreuung durch die Eigentümer war außerordentlich gut. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Villa liegt auf einem Berghang mit Blick aufs Meer. 7 Minuten benötigt man per Auto zum nächstgelegenen Lidl, lediglich 3 Minuten zu kleinen, lokalen Einkaufsläden, die ebenfalls eine ordentliche Auswahl (vor allem an frischen Früchten) bieten. In die Altstadt/ Hafen Rethymnons benötigt man 10-15 Minuten, die selbe Zeit zu tollen Stränden westlich von Rethymnon in Richtung Chania. Wir können Sirocos Beach & Tavern empfehlen, kostenlose Liegen und Schirme in bestem Zustand, frische Cocktails/ Säfte und qualitativ hochwertiges Essen, ein hervorragendes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Dazu bis ca 100m ins Meer hüfttiefes Wasser, für Kids perfekt. Wir haben eine tolle Zeit verbracht und würden jederzeit wiederkommen. Vielen Dank nochmal an Emma und ihre Familie! Efcharisto!

Best Home for Holiday ever

The villa ACORN is a perfect place for a holiday of a bigger group. We have been 9 people and there is plenty of room for doing things together - but nevertheless plenty of room to get a separate place for anybody who just wants some privacy. All has been in very good condition. There is anything You need for convenience, relaxation but activity and play too. We have been happy with the big garden with ripe oranges at the trees, with the additional separate house in the garden and of course with the pool. The house itself is much bigger than we expected from description and the surrounding area is separate, with many trees and very calm but nevertheless close to a small village shop and restaurant reachable within a short walk of 10min. And within a 10min. drive by car we anyway could reach the middle of Rethymnon with everything available You need. Also the location inside Crete is great, that allowed to visit the beaches in north and south with short distance and even reach many interesting places to the west and east with little time of driving (from Elafonisi beach to Heraklion/Knossos, all was possible to do easily). Every day we made juice from freshly picked oranges from the garden. We enjoyed many exotic plants (exotic for us), many blooming flowers and even more butterflies in the garden. The owners are very helpful, friendly and hearty people that made us our stay pleasant and helped us, to learn a little bit about people and the country of Crete. Last but not least of course Crete itself was great for us to visit the many nice beaches with perfectly crystal clear water, perfect for swimming (though the visit was in middle of June the water was of good temperatures). Furthermore many gorges and churches, interesting prehistoric places, ... Much more than possible to do within a short stay of rarely two weeks.
