We had a great time at this beautiful apartment. The only thing missing was air conditioning. But the location was perfect! We had a great time at the festival of Sao Miguel and in the beautiful neighborhood! The Tipsy Turtle was a perfect place for a night cap!

I enjoyed the cleanliness and having 3 full bathrooms. My problem was the location. It was terribly loud late into the night and we couldn’t close the windows due to the heat. Also, the 3 flights up to the apartment were not easy.

Fantastic location! Close to a metro stop. Amazing restaurants on the same street. Things to note as an American- there is no A/C but there are fans. The rooms are small but efficient. The kitchen is small but we only made coffee and toast in the mornings so it was fine. Mini fridge to hold the essentials. Check in was easy. Notebook with tons of info provided. No elevator. You want this place for the location and if you need multiple bedrooms. Clean.

Perfect, if you don't mind stairs.

This 4 bedroom apartment in the heart of Alfama, is perfect, if you do not mind stairs, as it is located on the 3rd floor, for US & Canadian residents, 2nd floor for Europeans. You are close to restaurants, on a mostly pedestrian street. There is lots of room for a group

Decent and well located apartment

Good apartment which has a great location. Having three bathrooms for 8 people in total is very handy. Kitchen area is okay but shouldn’t expect to be able to cook fancy meals, bit to basic for that. Due to the location of the appartement the rooms at the street side (ocean side) are relatively warmer than the room at the other side, which can be an issue since there’s only a fan and no AC.

Fabulous Lisbon Apartment

This apartment was beautiful for my family’s Lisbon vacation. There was enough space for everyone, and plenty of bathrooms as well which allowed multiple adults to shower and get ready at the same time. The layout took some getting used to, but being in the master bedroom apart from our kids was actually a blessing! We were worried about no air conditioning, which is normal for the area, but the fans did an amazing job. With all windows open we didn’t even need the fans at times because the breeze coming off the water was perfect. There isn’t an elevator so 3 flights of stairs might be tough if you have a lot of luggage, but overall the apartment was worth it.

Alfama stay

Nice, central apartment. Host attention is superb. Loved the neighborhood. Nice view. During our stay it was cold, so we didn’t air conditioning, but wonder how it plays during the summer when it’s hot and the apartment has no air conditioning. Specially, in one of the rooms that has no windows. Although, we didn’t minded, Be aware that it’s an old neighborhood and building. Floors are uneven and there is no elevator. You have to go up 3 floors with suitcases.

Depressing!

Got “checked in” by a third party, she was there to give us the codes to get in and out of the property. As we walked in I could tell immediately that this property was not what we expected. The rooms were a lot smaller than they seemed on the pictures. The angles that the pictures were taken were very deceiving and misleading. On the listing they have no pictures of the bathrooms and kitchen and I understand why as they are, again, extremely small and very dated. There was a strong moldy smell throughout the house and also smelled old. There is a bedroom that has no windows. We had to make a difficult decision to leave because we were 10 in our group and there was no way we would be comfortable staying there, besides it is a vacation and the last thing you want is to stay in a place that is honestly depressing. At this point, it was 7pm in Lisbon and we had no place to stay and somehow we needed to find a place that had 5 rooms available. Trust me it was a nightmare and very expensive. I contacted the host which of course did not agree with us and reminded us that if we walked out we would loose our money. We reached out to VRBO and our credit card to place a dispute. I would strongly recommend to stay away from this place!

PERFECT Location - Cozy Apartment

We had THE BEST time in Alfama at this property. Carlos was superb and just, so very lovely at ever interaction. He gave us so many recommendations and all of them were spot on perfect. I would say this property isn’t the best for families with young children. There are A TON of stairs leading up to the apartment and a bit of noise in the evening hours given it’s very central location. We sort of embraced it and kind of enjoyed it a little lol. There are close to 10 restaurants within very very short walking distance out the front door - the area is SO romantic at night and you can walk safely around the winding streets and stumble into some authentic fado and have your breath taken away. The train station is very very close and houses a supermarket which made exploring Lisbon and getting necessities super easy and convenient. I can’t say enough how much we enjoyed our stay at this property. There was no AC but you can leave the windows open all night for the most amazing cool breeze that flows all through the apartment. The host was very responsive when we asked for a fan for the room with no windows and brought one the very next morning. Two (very) small drawbacks: 1. The fridge is very small - we ate out more (and cheaply) in the area but if this is not in your plan or in your budget just be aware. 2. The property is situated perfectly, but on a hill. The walk home from the train station is a workout - and then there’s 4 flights of stairs at the end of it.

Spacious, Great Location, Great Service

I stayed in the Remedios III with my family of 5 -- a couple, my mother, and two teenaged children. We originally planned a three night stay, however, due to the east coast snow storm, our arrival in Lisbon was delayed by two days and we only had one night in Lisbon and in the lovely flat. The flat is located in the wonderful Alfama district, with many places to eat and interesting streets to wander. Convenient to public transportation, close to the river. The flat is as pictured and was clean. While the living/dining room is small, it is comfortable and has a great view. The real benefit is the number and size of the bedrooms. The four bedrooms are situated in such a way as to be private, and with three bathrooms, there is plenty of space for the group. The bedrooms are each large enough for a couple, with room for luggage. We were very happy with the service from the time of our inquiry to the time we left. The management group Heart and Soul Lisbon responded promptly to our inquiry and answered all questions. When we asked for an early check in, they promised to accommodate us if possible, and then were able to do so. When I notified them that we would be two days late, they offered us an extension of two days (this was not possible for us). The manager met us upon arrival, and generously discounted our bill in recognition that the delay could not have been helped. As a Homeaway.com property owner and someone who has rented a number of properties, I can tell you that this is not typical! They also arranged a large taxi for us the next day so that we could go to the airport and pick up a rental car for the rest of our holiday, which took place outside the city. We were very happy with our interaction with Heart and Soul Lisbon, and I will seek out one of their apartments if I have the opportunity to visit the city again.

Der Empfang war freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Sicherheit der Haustür ist jedoch mangelhaft. Es wurde mittels Ersatzschlüssel eingebrochen, wobei Gegenstände und Bargeld entwendet und alle persönlichen Dinge durchwühlt wurden. Die Stornierung verlief reibungslos, da wir unter diesen Umständen keinen weiteren Aufenthalt wünschen. Die Präsentation der Wohnung durch die Fotografien ist vorteilhaft, jedoch handelt es sich um einen sehr alten Altbau. Die Bäder sind funktionsfähig. Die Sauberkeit war zufriedenstellend, jedoch war der Innenraum des Geschirrspülers stark abgenutzt. Dies ist bedauerlich.

Classic apartment with river view

Traveling with 7 mostly adult family members. There was space for everyone, and 3 bathrooms was priceless. We did ok without AC, but the windows had to stay open with fans running in early June. Kitchen was classically European, but there were so many places to eat nearby that we really only used it for breakfast. The closest parking garage is down the hill west of Chafariz Del Rei, about a 15 minute walk. Don’t drive in Lisbon if you don’t have to. We were within walking distance of the Cathedral and Castelo de Sao Jorge. There is a festival from the end of May to mid June. Made it a bit noisy and crowded, but the older kids loved the festive atmosphere and people watching, and we were right in the middle of it all. I would stay there again. The check-in process was traditional (in person) and we were given a lot of helpful info. I prefer self check-in though, just because we’re not keeping anyone waiting when we get lost. And I always get lost!

Wohnung für Freunde zum Kurztrip

Wir haben uns in Lissabon sehr gut gefühlt. Die Wohnung liegt im 3. oder 4. Stock und ist gut geschnitten um bis zu 8 Personen zu beherbergen. Ich würde sie jedoch für nur maximal 6 Personen empfehlen. Ein Zimmer hat kein Fenster und die Küche ist sehr klein. Zwei der Zimmer grenzen an das Wohnzimmer. Leider gibt es keine Klimaanlage und es war bei unserem Aufenthalt sehr sehr warm. Die Wohnung ist gemütlich, alles ist ein wenig „ungerade“, was den gewissen Charme gibt. Die Lage ist für einen Städtetrip optimal, weil man irgendwie „mittendrin“ ist.

Needs updating. The pictures do not represent what the unit looks like in person. Entry had dead cockroaches on the floor the entire time we were there. Furniture uncomfortable and nothing was in the best shape. Location was good for getting around the city. We had to carry our garbage out before we left which isn’t a big deal, except it was down 4 flights of precarious stairs.

Fun and convenient

Thank you for making the check in process so smooth and welcoming! Thanks for all the extras like coffee!!!! and all the other kitchen extras! Everything was great. It was fun to be able to just walk downstairs and see life on the streets, with many restaurants and small grocery stores. My only complaint is that I don’t have enough room in luggage for all the souvenirs to bring home!

Great location and very nice house!

The house has a magnificent view of the sea, it's perfect for 4 couples, 3 bathrooms, 4 bedrooms, nice kitchen.

Traumhafte Ferienwohnung

Die Wohnung war sauber, hell und mitten im Alfama Viertel. Direkt neben dem Haus gab es eine fantastische Frühstücksbar und bis zur Metro waren es keine 5 Minuten. Tolle Aussicht auf den Tejo.

Exceptional vacation

Our party of 7 had a great time in this lovely apartment. Communication with the owners was easy, early check in was available, there were enough kitchen utensils to cook a meal. We had a wonderful trip and will gladly recommend this place to our friends.
