We are pleased you had a nice stay and enjoyed Maui. We are sorry you had an issue with the sound level but your remark of it being poorly constructed is quite inaccurate and misinformed. As most travelers who have spent any time in Hawaii know that most windows in the Islands are the jalousie (louvered) windows which we have in our unit. Most condo project prohibit the use or replacement of any other kind due to the nature of the warm moist weather and they help minimize mold and mildew. Jalousie windows maximize natural ventilation by allowing airflow through the entire window area. Historically made of glass panes, they are well suited to mild climates. With mass production they became very common throughout homes in Florida, Hawaii, southern California, the deep South, and Latin America. An additional advantage of jalousie windows is the ability to leave them at least partway open in most heavy rains, maintaining desirable ventilation whether a sun shower or prolonged tropical storm.

Aloha Anna, we are so glad you enjoyed your stay. Maui is always so amazing! Sorry that you were confused on check in times. We try to prevent this by listing it on our VRBO website as well as in the rental contract and, again with the key codes we send. We wish we would have known sooner that you requested an earlier check in. Check in times are set as to allow our cleaning crew time to clean the condo throughly prior to your arrival. We do get trade winds in Maui which can blow dust around when the lanai and windows are open. You arrived just after a tropical storm passed through, which may be why you saw some debris laying around the grounds. The staff at our complex works tirelessly to keep the grounds clean and beautiful every day. I'm sorry that you had trouble with the internet. We did have a service technician come by to inspect it and they could not find any problems or interruptions with the service. We were told antivirus software on computers can cause a connection issue. We are always available to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. We sure hope to see you back sometime soon. Dan

Aloha Christy, I’m so happy you enjoyed the unit. It was just recently remodeled and newly furnished with the most updated and accomodating features and touches. Our units are always fresh and immaculately clean. The sprinkers come on early in the morning so as not to distrub guests during the day from enjoying the grounds and sitting on their lanais. To maintain tidy surroundings and dispose of rubbish, the waste disposal company comes by once a week to empty the garbage containers. This is what you probably heard. These are normal practices at all vacation resorts. There is no concrete company around us. Unfortunately all beach areas sometimes attract unwelccomed guests. Just as other Kihei vacation complexes have instituted measures to detour this kind of activity, Kihei Garden Estates has taken proactive approaches as well. Tropical weather conditions sometimes create debris on the beach. However, Maui county and adjoining vaction complexes do their best to routinely clean those areas. Maui continues to be amongst the top beach vacation destinations. And, that’s why so many of us come here… for the first time and/or multiple times! The beaches and scenery are spectacular, land and water activities galore, the food is fabulous, shopping is close and always fun, the Hawaiian spirit is so warm and friendly! We selected our unit at the Kihei Garden Estates complex because it’s centrally located to all of this. We sure hope you went home with some great Aloha memories!!
