It was a pleasure hosting your group, thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us. We are so glad that you enjoyed the property and all of the amenities. We are lucky to be centrally located and walking distance to wonderful restaurants, shops and tastings rooms. Some of our restaurants need a bit of notice for larger groups, but are happy to accommodate with a reservation. Though BBQ poolside is always a favorite and enjoyable way to end the evening. We are thrilled to announce after the blistering 2019 summer, we have upgraded our HVAC system, and now the entire home is fully air conditioned. We can accept an honest critique, but we were taken aback from the unfair review when the guests obviously had a great time! Their negative review is not as bad as the condition that the property was left. We anticipated this review as these guests were shocked to find a $200 deduction from their security deposit. This covered the extra cleaning, violations to contract, ignoring checkout procedures and damages. This was our first time withholding any amount from a deposit, and it is never our wish to do so. However, when our property is abused, we do have to take appropriate actions to restore the property for future guests. The cleaning fee covers laundering of linens, towels, cleaning bathrooms, kitchen, vacuuming, mopping and tidying the house for our next guests. We do not expect our guest to clean the house to the condition in which it was at check in. We had preferred to keep details confidential, but we don't feel we warranted the harsh review. These guests left several dirty diapers on bedroom floors and garbage on the floor, not in the provided garbage cans. There was trash and pool equipment floating and sunk in the pool. Food and dirty dishes were left in the kitchen and outdoors. We had to move back bedroom and living room furniture, and replace the broken lamp. These guests were granted an early arrival, a discounted rate, and a shorter stay then our minimum stay typically allows. The guests texted two hours before check out and requested a late checkout, which we had to deny due to our tight housekeeping schedule. We called to follow up explaining that we couldn't extend check out this time and they hung up on us. Later they sent a text that they were gone, but housekeeping was standing by until they left ten to noon. It is never our wish to pressure guests to vacate the home, as we understand they are on vacation. In instances when we do not have another check in or scheduled housekeeping, we are always happy to extend a checkout time. They mentioned that the pool is not kid friendly. The depth of the pool is 3.5', 6', and 4.5' deep and averaged 80-85 temp during the 2015 summer. It has an electronic cover for safety. We try to accommodate guests however possible. We try to aid our guests to have a wonderful vacation at our property and the surrounding amenities that Glen Ellen and the wine country has to offer.
