Just returned from a wonderful holiday in Bagnoli, which is a lovely suburb of Naples. It has great transport links so made our trips to Baiae, Pompeii and Herculaneum possible once we’d mastered the Metro and trains. There is a beach area, with a pool, but sea swimming is limited. Larger beaches are a tram ride down the coast at Baiae.
There are very few tourists here, but the locals are extremely friendly and willing to help, even though we speak no Italian.
The apartment is exactly as described and has everything you need. The main square with all amenities is on the doorstep.
If I could give Giuseppe more than 5 stars, I would. Nothing was too much trouble and he even offered to book a taxi for us to get back to the airport.
In summary, if you want a base from which to explore all the history of the gulf of Naples, this is great.
