Stunning area, perfect property, awesome hosts!

One of the most beautiful mountainous areas in the world paired with a great house in a perfect location. The hosts were very informative about the area, trails, places to visit, eat. Will visit and stay again!

Daniel and Amy were gracious hosts, courteous and punctual. We’ve communicated very well during their stay, and they´ve left the house well-ordered and clean. We hope one day they can come back to discover a bit more about Serra da Estrela, its trails, hiking and climbing spots.

Mountain House

Hard surfaces in property are immaculate. However, the place has a distinct musty odour that will bother most people.

Hi Richard. Thank you for your review. We don't understand what you mean by "musty odour". During your entire stay we asked you daily if everything was OK. If you had informed us that you had sensed that "bothering odour", we would surely had checked it and tried to solve the issue. Nevertheless, until now, it is the first time that we have this complain. After reading your review, we did an inspection and found no signs of mold, humidity or any kind of strange odor, in cabinets, beds, walls, floors... Wonderful house and hosts!

This was one of our favorite places that we stayed during a 2 week trip to portugal. The house is terrific - spacious, beautiful, well appointed (we often cooked dinner for our group of 7). We loved enjoying coffee or wine on the porch; there are breathtaking views from almost every room. The hosts are so thoughtful, including providing great advice and info on hikes and things to do; they truly looked out for us. We visited in august, and the house was quite comfortable even on hot days. Highly recommend!

Une maison typique, confortable, spacieuse et bien équipée

Nous avons passé une très agréable semaine dans la belle région de Manteigas. Au programme: de nombreuses ballades, la visite de petites villes sympathiques, de magnifiques plages fluviales et d'artisans locaux. La maison est très agréable avec une vue époustouflante. Le lit dans la chambre parentale est grand et confortable. Les propriétaires sont accueillants, sympathiques et disponibles sans être envahissants. Ils nous ont offerts à plusieurs reprises des fruits et légumes de leur jardin. Merci aussi pour le cake à notre arrivée! Bref, un endroit où nous retournerons certainement ces prochaines années.

Uma casa confortável e tranquila no coração da Serra da Estrela

A Casa Cerro da Correia, além de ser muito confortável e tranquila, proporciona uma vista deslumbrante para o vale do Zêzere. Manteigas fica no coração da Serra da Estrela, e a casa é uma ótima opção para quem quiser descobrir as inúmeras trilhas da região e suas aldeias históricas. Inês e Miguel foram ótimos anfitriões, discretos e sempre dispostos a nos ajudar ou dividir conosco seu conhecimento da região - e os produtos da sua horta! Obrigado pelo bolo de laranja e pela geleia! Recomendamos o cardápio que propõem e sua sugestão de café da manhã, deliciosos e práticos para quem acaba de chegar e ainda não teve tempo de ir às compras. Voltaremos sem dúvida para a Serra da Estrela e para a Casa Cerro da Correia onde passamos uma excelente estadia.

Wundervolles Haus mit herrlichem Blick und sehr netten, engagierten Vermietern

Wir waren für 9 Tage zum Wandern in diesem schönen Haus oberhalb von Manteigas. Genossen haben wir den Blick über Manteigas hinweg in das Gletschertal des Rio Zezere. Es gibt mehrere Sitzplätze draußen incl. zwei Hängematten. Wir haben uns in dem liebevoll und stilvoll eingerichteten Haus sehr wohlgefühlt. Die Vermieter sind ausgesprochen nett und hilfsbereit und haben uns mit Erdbeeren und Bohnen aus ihrem Garten versorgt. Manteigas ist ein guter Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen in der Sierra da Estrela, und es war herrlich, im kalten Wasser des Rio Mondego zu baden.

We we’re very glad to receive Dorothea, Martin and Jakob. They we’re kind, friendly and cheerful guests. From the start, the communication with them was easy and fluent. They’ve always arrived on time. Extremely careful with the house and the property, they left it spotless at the check-out. We found particularly special their concern with the community in which they spent holidays, their interest in knowing more about the village’s history, cultural activities and natural surroundings. We highly recommend them to other hosts and hope to receive them soon.
