Perfect

Nicely set up - depicts the era. Lovely bistro back yard setting with original brick. This cottage actually was mentioned by name in the book "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil".

Great stay

This was this easiest rental process I have ever been through. Download an app and go. The app provided every detail for us to get in our house and once in example Wi-Fi pw, codes, checkout. It was very user friendly. Nice clean house, in walking distance to a lot of food and fun places! We had four adults on the trip and had a blast.

Girls trip!

Property was not clean when we arrived but manager corrected the situation immediately. Otherwise the house was very nice, great location and especially enjoyed the patio! Jasmine was blooming and the fragrance was wonderful!

Wake field Cottage matched the pictures and was a clean and comfortable place. rooms are great and both bathrooms were a good size for homes of this age. The back courtyard was fantastic for our dog, although a little weedkiller might if helped the bricks a bit. The private parking space and not needing to move your car on sweep days are definitely a plus for anyone staying in this town! Great location close to everything really

Great location

Very nice stay with my bff. Walked to everything and there was so much to see and do! Food was great. People were so friendly. The cottage is very quaint and small, yet lovely. The second bedroom appears to be a porch that has been enclosed. It was a bit warm and stuffy, but using a fan took care of this issue. Not sure how it would be in the heat of summer. But the bed was comfy and I really loved the brick walls and vintage decor. Overall a great girl’s getaway trip. Food and drinks in Savannah are awesome!! I would suggest supplying some wine glasses. But we didn’t cook, instead took advantage of the amazing nearby restaurants! I hope to return and would stay here again.

Our little home for the weekend!

My two BFFs and I stayed here for the weekend and had a wonderful time. The apartment was clean, there were plenty of towels, the beds were comfy, the bathrooms were clean and we had great water pressure in the showers. There is parking and a cute little garden. We were close to everything, the river and city market, walking wasn't an issue. It was really cold that weekend, so we ended up hanging out at the apartment one afternoon. The sofa isn't the most comfortable, but we made it work. I would stay here every time I come to Savannah. Also, I called Lucky Savannah a few times with questions and they were SO HELPFUL and SO VERY NICE! Thank you again!

The cottage is a bit run down and wasn't really that clean. Living room lamp zip tied together, the courtyard wasn't very pretty or well maintained. This cottage could be very cute with a few updates and improved housekeeping. Needs a ceiling fan in back bedroom as it gets quite warm back there.

Savannah Wakefield cottage stay

Special thank you for their help dealing with our package delivery! My husband and I have stayed in many vacation rentals, this one was not our favorite. The location to savannah points of interest can not be beat. The off street parking is a big bonus. However, the house was not as sparkly clean as we are used to and the laundry situation wasn’t great (very small apartment sized washer drier that didn’t work well).

Charming Old Savannah Cottage

My daughter and granddaughter stayed with us and this cottage is perfect for a family with kids. Full bed and two twins. Very cool second bathroom crafted from original brick porch. Has the basics in kitchen needs and a TV in every room. Perfect location for walking. Four blocks from River Street just off the square between Broad and Price. The downside was that the second bedroom is accessed through the main bedroom which wasn't ideal. Also the second bedroom has a skylight which allows beautiful morning light in. I loved it but one might not if they are trying to sleep. That being said I would stay again.

Girls weekend

This property was very cute and fitting for a weekend in Savannah. It was walking distance to everything in the historic district. The area was quiet, the courtyard was perfect for morning coffee and evening drinks. Only a couple of suggestions for your future renters: the skylight is brutal for trying to sleep past 7am after a night of drinking. Great for natural light, but not during a hangover. Also the rug in the 2nd bedroom needs to be changed or cleaned, its worn and dirty looking. We did have to scoot the living room furniture around a tidge for everyone (3 of us) to be able to see the tv- and I had to use the remote from the bedroom to control the living room tv bc the 4 that were there did not work. Overall cool place and Id stay there again despite those things. Oh- the skylight in the second bathroom is also leaking- that should definitely be inspected.

We loved walking through the beautiful squares and taking our dog to the park/square across the street. Reserved parking spot was very welcome feature. Nice little courtyard with chairs & table for hanging out. Rental company was very responsive with our questions and requests. We ate breakfast at the cottage.Not equipped for complicated or gourmet cooking. Savannah is full of wonderful places to eat, though. The cottage needed a thorough spring cleaning because the cleaning crew did what I would call a cursory cleaning. Also, there were a few small things in need of repair which makes it appear they are getting ready to renovate. If you plan to spend most of your time going out, eating out sightseeing, etc. and want to be in a great location, it fits the bill.

Cute, dog -friendly, with a parking space

It is cute, the kitchen very small with no dishwasher, and you must go through 1 bedroom to get to the other. This shotgun - style cottage was not well -appointed for cooking or doing dishes but was all that a couple traveling with 2 dogs needed. It is near many squares and is walking distance from much that one would want to see. I miss the Lucky Savannah we experienced a few years ago. Calls to ensure we arrived and that we had all we needed.The attention to detail is missing here.Courtyard needed sprucing up and seating washed down. Its a bit crowded back there with 2 tables.

Quaint but old

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Visited Savanah for the 1st time and also was running the marathon. We were displaced from our original booking place due to unpredicted circumstances. The rental company was helpful in finding another place. The Wakefield Cottage was charming but not modern or luxurious as our original booking therefore I may be a bit bias already but the home is old and if you have that in mind to start with, it truly is a lovely home. Parking spot was a plus. Location was fine. We couldn't not get the wifi to work and the fuse would go off if we used more that one form of appliance in the home. Especially if you use hair dryer. I would have enjoyed the home more if I know exactly what to expect but nonetheless we made it work and had a nice time.

4 night family time

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Place was right for location and easy to find. Parking was in the back so a good spot. House was good for our family of 4. Back bedroom had a sun light so kids were not able to sleep in which was fine since I wanted to get out earlier in the morning.It was a bit cramped with the back bathroom. Shower in there was nice but the rest was like an RV. If you have electronics, bring an extension cord as there are few outlets and the ones closest to the beds are taken by lights and other equipment already there. They had Wi-Fi but it was very slow. The equipment said it had 5G and 2.4G but only had one sign on so do not think we got 5G. Speeds were around 3-12M. No dishwasher yet had Finish dishwasher tablets. Made me laugh a bit. There was only 2 spoons but had 6 forks.Back gate had an opening under that would let our dogs get out so had to put something under it. It also was very hard to open but once we found you had to hit the very top before it would open, we were okay. Courtyard was great for relaxing.Overall it was a good experience.

Disappointed

Overall, I was quite disappointed with my experience at Wakefield Cottage. At check-in, my daughter and I attempted to enter but were unable to find a key. Coincidentally, an employee of Lucky Savannah drove by and informed us that the key had not been replaced by housekeeping the previous day. A man in the car asked us if we were going to need the parking space reserved for the house as his work van was parked there. We told him that we would need that space. It didn't occur to us that we'd have to ask to have access to the one parking space that came with our unit. After a few moments, a different employee of Lucky Savannah arrived with the key. When we went in, we immediately found a dirty pair of pajama pants on the floor of the back bedroom. I went out front and flagged down the person who'd brought the key and told her about the pajama pants and she came in and got them. We also found a pair of hose also on the bedroom floor (in addition to an unclean kitchen and a general smell of stale cigarettes). These items were in clear view of anyone who had been tasked with cleaning before our arrival. This VRBO was chosen because, as a local, I knew that it is in close proximity to the Morris Center where my daughter was getting married on Saturday. We'd planned to have the bridesmaids get ready at our place and take pictures in the lovely courtyard pictured in the listing. When we saw the courtyard, we immediately knew we'd have to change our plans. There were numerous huge limbs laying in the courtyard that we cleaned up ourselves. It was dirty and definitely NOT where I'd like to enjoy my morning coffee as the listing suggested. Sunday morning, I underestimated how many trips to my home it would take to deliver all of the wedding paraphernalia and I ran late checking out. Jamela from Lucky Savannah called about 11:30 to check on our progress and I told her I was getting our things out as fast as I could and I would notify her when I was out. As I was leaving to take another load, I saw housekeeping waiting outside. I told them I would be right back for the last load. As soon as I drove away, Jamela called to say I hadn't left the key. I tried to tell her what I'd told housekeeping, but she became loud and belligerent. I hung up the phone. Jamela immediately called back and my daughter took the call. Again, she was rude and completely unprofessional. From the beginning of my stay to the very end, I was VERY disappointed.
