We are Dale & Julie Buxton, your hosts at the Station House. Dale is a native of Cornish and together we've made this town our home for the past 35 years, raising our family here. With deep roots in agriculture, we both share a love for country living and the community.
We purchased the property in 2014 with the vision of transforming it into an enjoyable retreat for all who visit. The house was completely gutted, and the three original outside walls were kept to preserve the historic character of the home. More footage was added to the west part of the house on the main and second floors. From the start, our goal has been to create a space where families and friends can gather and feel at home. One unique feature of the property is the garage located next to the house, which was once used as a gas station and machine shop in the early 1900s. In 2020, it was renovated into a gathering space that comfortably seats up to 45 guests. The space is fully equipped with a kitchen, serving area, bathroom, smart TV, heating, and air conditioning, making it perfect for hosting events year-round.
In addition to the gas station, there is a two-story wooden barn that was also used in the 1900s for milking cows, storing feed hay for horses and cattle.
