Getting there:
1-hour, 10-minutes by train, car or private van to ferry dock from New York City, or 15 minutes from Islip airport. Then it is just a 25 minute relaxing ferry boat ride to Fire Island. Less than a ten minute walk to house once arriving to the island.
Car free island, only bicycles. A safe place for children.

Additional Usage Fees & Taxes
1. Electricity is metered. I do allow a $25. per week credit
2. Cleaning service at end of rental varies from $200. to $250. paid from the security deposit.
3. Security Deposit required for any damages, electric usage, and cleaning $1,000. at time of arrival.
3. There is a 5.5-percent tax for the rental cost to be collected on the day of arrival (this fee might be collected from VRBO in advance)
