This property offers an outstanding location close to the ferry, park, and bay. The property owner if very friendly and accommodating. Plenty of room to bring friends or children. I recommend this property and will plan to stay again in the future.

Great house on the Island

We enjoyed our stay at Penny’s house. Great location close to the ferry. The house was clean and pool was beautiful! Can’t wait to go back! Thank you Penny.

Great spot on the island!

We had so much fun for our vacation on Balboa Island! We enjoyed the pool. The beach house is nice and close to all of the fun things to do!! Penny is a wonderful host and she was very attentive to our needs! Looking forward to next time!

Great vacation ever!

Host, Penny, very pleasant, had all the beach gear available including paddle boarding in the bay! The pool was so huge along with the pool slide, sometimes kids wanted to just swim in the pool rather then go to the beach, lol ! Thank you Penny, see you next summer!

Great place to stay

We love this place. It has a great island beach getaway feel, and is a half a block from the balboa island ferry. It is always a bonus to have a very nice pool to swim in, and Penny is wonderful to work with. We'll be coming back

Friendly, sunny, beautiful week at the beach

Penny and Bill Darling were welcoming on their pool deck surrounded by beautiful plumaria trees. The bed in the large sunny bedroom/sitting room was better than my own bed at home and the big shower was wonderful. The kitchen has a great refrigerator and a hot plate, but for those considering the rental, note that the limited counter space would not easily accommodate preparing large meals, if that were desired. All in all a great experience. Thank you for a super week in Balboa.

Very clean, but smaller than expected with no privacy

The home was very clean, but extremely small. The pictures were a bit deceiving. It says there's 1 bedroom, but truly the entire upstairs is the living room (the TV is up there) and the queen bed is right tin the middle of that room, with no doors to close, so whoever is sleeping in the bunk beds is walking through your "bedroom" to get to their space. The downstairs has the kitchen and pullout couch. When the couch is open you can't even move down there bc the table blocks the stairs and the couch blocks the stove. The pool was fun, and we knew it was shared, but we just assumed it was shared with another rental, not the owners. We felt like we were being watched the whole time, as it was a little strange for us to be vacationing is someones backyard. The family smokes a lot, so we could not enjoy sitting outdoors like we would have liked, as we could not handle the smoke and felt trapped inside the house whenever we were home. If you don't mind being in someones backyard and sleeping on top of each other, then it's a great spot. the location was amazing, and we're some what used to staying in tight quarters when we all get together (our two families that went) but we just expected something quite different.
