1998年に、オルヴィエートの最も古い地域にあるこの家を購入しました。 13年間、2人の建築家の友人と協力して現在の状態に復元しています。 家の大規模な修復は、中世の近所の元の特徴を完全に尊重し、内部にすべての近代的な設備を統合しました。 私の家は、1004年に建てられた最も古いオルヴィエート教会であるサンジョヴェナーレから半ブロック先にあります。 オルヴィエートは4つの地区に分けられ（Quartieri）、サンジョヴェナーレもその1つです。

レンタルは最低3泊の滞在で可能です。 到着すると、マネージャーのパオロ・ルチアーニが迎えてくれます。パオロ・ルチアーニは、岩の下の駅前の広場であなたに会います。

We were delighted with this home. The position and views were stunning and quite unique. The underground rooms were amazing and displayed part of Etruscan history.The booking, the level of advance information and being collected at the train station made the whole process smooth .we would highly recommend a stay here.

Much better than expected. Great location. We really enjoyed the stay. We very much appreciated comfortable beds, linens good washer and dryer. We would highly recommend the property. We also ate at several restaurants recommended by the owner. Don’t miss the local church around the corner as well as the major sites associated with the Duomo.

This is such a great location, up at the top of the city but still an easy walk to everything. Orvieto is such a beautiful town, we really enjoyed our time there. This location is so unique, with the Etruscan caves in the bottom floors. We were picked up at the train station, which was so nice after traveling, not to have to worry about getting to the VRBO.

Amazing views and one of a kind property

Magical Orvieto

History and Holiday

This property is one of a kind. A quiet location overlooking the valley with lower levels carved into the tofa rock by ancestors long gone. Loving restored. It’s an easy walk to the center of the village with plenty of quiet streets to get “lost” in.

Orievto House on the Hill

It started off a little rough, but we enjoyed the house a lot. The location is fantastic and the views are incredible. It is pretty inside on all the levels and it felt cozy. We would recommend this place to anyone!

Extraordinary House

Apart from the spectacular views across the valleys and hills, this house has its own archeological exploration on display underneath. Comfortable, spacious, sleeps 5. We would gladly stay again.

Spectacular Orvieto property

This place was magical - A brilliant renovation - great location and with the best possible view Everything you could want for a holiday vacation home . I was taking an art course and was able to come home for lunch daily - on route was a local butcher - a fruit and vegetable shop and a hardware store - the morning walk along the cliff with the extraordinary views of the valley was an added bonus

Amazing!

The property is extraordinary! We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Perfect location to explore Umbria and what an incredibly historical and beautiful building it is. It’s in a lovely quiet part of town with beautiful views of the countryside. If you do drive, the parking lot is a good distance from the property - easy walk with the wonderful escalators.

Wonderful Holiday Rest

We had just finished a strenuous Rick Steves Tour of Sicily, and wanted to spend some days rewinding, relaxing, and getting a feel for a different part of Italy. This place was perfect, the history of the house is amazing, and the decor and fine workmanship of the cabinetry was outstanding and it carried throughout the entire house. We were close to town and enjoyed the people, the food, and the scenery. I would recommend this house to anyone who wants a unique experience in a hilltop city.

Great place

The house has been thoughtfully designed and was very comfortable. Views were tremendous and we loved that the upper town of Orvieto is a walking town. Farmer’s markets on Wednesday and Saturday mornings. San Giovenale church was built in 1000 and is still in use every day. Beautiful mass on Christmas Day. If you’re looking for quiet and serene with great views, this is your place.

It was our own Underground Orvieto

We had a wonderful stay at the very unique home in Orvieto. The location and fantastic view was wonderful and the hill town of Orvieto was outstanding. We took long walks and thoroughly enjoyed much wonderful food at area osterias, trattorias, pizzerias and bars. But, even still, this wonderful home was incredible with its own underground and caves showing its Etruscan roots. Then, you can go upstairs and see million dollar views. Magical location!

House on the rock was wonderful. The home is in the oldest part of town and overlooks the stunning valley below. Owner and manager were great to work with and very accommodating. House has unique layout with multiple floors and looking into original Etruscan cave. The setting gives you a true experience. This house is ideal for 2 couples or family with older children. Orvieto is beautiful with great restaurants, lots of history, and as a base to explore Umbria and Tuscany. We hope to return again!

Amazing!

A 10 out of 10 isn't sufficient for this place...that's what you give a normal place that does everything right. But, this was an out-of-this-world place that does everything right. The property is in one of the most amazing places in the world, with a tremendous view, great history, and perfect amenities. I don't know what to tell you other than "Go rent this place!"

Amazing!

I can’t believe we were able to stay in this amazing property! The house is beautiful, and beautifully decorated. The excavated underground is so incredible, we went down there often. In fact, we found the bed in the lower floor more comfortable, so we slept down there too. The location is next to the best view in town and yet close to the parking lot elevator and escalator, and great restaurants. We highly recommend Mezza Luna for dinner, but definitely make a reservation. In short, if you will be staying in Orvieto, rent this property.

History and view

Interesting apartment in tufa block with outstanding views over Umbrian hills. Real sense of ancient history while being comfortable. Plenty of towels and pillows - a plus. Walking distance to everything and great sunsets. Only thing to improve it would be a small outside deck for coffee in morning and wine in evening. Maybe off the office/third bedroom? We encountered no fantasmi (ghosts)!

Beautiful property and great location. A few details overlooked.

Architectural restoration was beautiful. Wasn’t informed that local manager wasn’t available until we arrived and called the owner. Manager initially fixed the internet and water tap that was loose. Water heater was not fixed. Ignored communications to again fix the internet - so were without internet for 80% of the trip. Not to mention no hot water in master bath and kitchen for most of the trip. We would stay again if convinced these issues are addressed.

The Manager was expecting guest's arrival for the day before as originally scheduled. He was worried when he heard that the arrival was postponed because he had another commitment. Myself, the owner, and the Manager could not resolve the problems reported and we apologize.

This house is located in the oldest part of Orvieto, next to San Giovenale, the first Orvieto Cathedral built in 1004. The house has been fully restored with all modern amenities inside and has easy access to shopping, restaurants, and many places nearby.

Rental is available with a minimum of three nights stay. Upon your arrival you will be greeted by Paolo Luciani, the manager, who will meet you in the main square in front of the train station below the rock.

Once your stay is confirmed we will communicate directly by phone and by email.

My Orvieto house has been a wonderful gateway to tranquillity, art, history and antiquity. I love the location, close to Rome, fast transportation and countless places of interest.
You will be in the oldest part of Orvieto, next to San Giovenale, the first Orvieto Cathedral built in 1004. The house has been fully restored with all modern amenities, close to lots of shopping, true Italian restaurants, many historical places. Rental is available with a minimum of three nights stay.
