Growing up in the Chicago area, my parents always took the family to the lakes of Wisconsin and Minnesota for vacations. They always dreamed of having their own place on a lake, and after a lot of thought and search for the right place, they bought this house in 1970. It was a small fishing cottage built about 1930. My father went right to work on adding a second story and remodeling the interior to accommodate our family. After my parents passed away, my husband and I were able to keep it in the family. We did further additions and renovations; always trying to stay true to the original design and architecture. Our five children have grown up spending part of every summer here and creating wonderful family memories in the process.
We are now retired from our careers in city planning and school psychology and living in Kansas City most of the year, but are now able to spend several months a year on the lake and share it with our children and grandchildren.
