Great house in a safe quiet neighborhood

My family and I stayed at Heidi’s house for a month during a recent procedure at Mayo clinic. What a great house with a split floor plan, we had my parents staying with us and it was nice that they had their own space with their own bathroom. We also enjoyed the backyard pool and fenced in area for the dog to play. We took many walks to the local park where our son played, and I could sit in the sun and read a book. Heidi was fantastic to work with and provided good communication and quickly answered any and all of our questions. Thank you for a great stay.

Enjoyable stay

We enjoyed our time here. The property is in a quiet neighborhood that is very walkable. We had everything we needed for our stay. The kitchen was well stocked and the bathrooms had plenty of towels/washcloths. Our dog loved the fenced in backyard. Would definitely stay here again.

Worked for Us

We stayed here for five weeks, although we did not spend a lot of time on the property. It met our needs. It was well-equipped with towels, cleaning supplies, dishes, etc.

Great place to stay. House is clean, well kept and comfortable. The location is in a quiet neighborhood yet only 5 mins to grocery stores, restaurants and shopping centers. Heidi was quick to reply to messages and is very friendly and kind. No doubt that we will book with Heidi again.

Great host, great stay!

Villa Lamar was as advertised and more. Heidi is very responsive and accommodating. We needed a comfortable house for us and our pets while relocating to Scottsdale and this was perfect. Comfortable, safe and centrally located to dining, shopping and everything we needed. The pool was refreshing in the summer heat and the years perfect for our dogs. Highly recommend a stay at Villa Lamar!

We have stayed at this property many times. It is a 2BR 2 BA home with a pool and a yard. There are cooking supplies and all appliances work. It is close to everything but in a quiet neighborhood. The beds are comfortable. Our first choice for Scottsdale trips!

This is a lovely house in a quiet neighborhood. We stay here whenever we attend a horse show at West world. It is well stocked with cooking supplies, the beds are comfortable and our dog loves the yard. It's close to everything and there is a nice park nearby. The wifi works great. we didn't watch tv so don't know how that works. Already have bookings for future stays!

Coming from cold winter montana, this was time to thaw out and relax. House was very well equipped, pool was too cool to use however.

Scottsdale Vista North Gem

We have stayed here before and try to book it whenever we are in town for a horse show at Westworld. We travel with our dog, so the door to the yard off the master is a plus. There are plenty of cooking supplies and some olive oil and basic spices. We know everything works and the location is so convenient! Easy to get to Westworld, the freeway, shopping, FedEx, Post Office, you name it it's right there. There were some upgrades since our last visit, a sofa bed in the living room and an additional desk. There's plenty of dishes, drinkware, etc. We only used the pool occasionally but it was very refreshing. will definitely be back!

Great Getaway

This was a great house and a great location. The house is well equipped and the owner was very accessible and helpful. The only issue was the highway which is literally backs to the property. The noise was not awful but it is not quiet either. We joked that the ocean was on the other side of the wall and got used to.

Good amenities and neighborhood

Stayed there in December 2020. Very pretty pool and wish we could have used it! Kitchen has everything we needed, and the walking in the neighborhood was nice and also safe. Good location for outdoor activities and grocery shopping. Very communicative owner who wanted to be sure things went right for us. This is an older house that has been remodeled in part. It is near the 101, but there is a large wall constructed by ADOT that keeps the noise to a minimum.

Fantastic Location

Heidi is great to work with and Is always available to answer questions. The property location is ideal for getting around Phoenix and enjoying the sunshine. With two bedrooms and two baths on opposite sides of the house there is great privacy for couples or families, Great for a get-a-way in Arizona’s beautiful winter sunshine !

North Scottsdale haven

This is a 2BR 2 BA home with a small yard and pool. My daughter and I came to show at a horse show at West Word and brought our dog. We had stayed here before and it worked out well. It is easy to get to, in a quiet neighborhood and we felt very safe. The front door has a code but keys are provided that will unlock the back doors should the code fail. There are 2 garage remotes available once inside. There is a mailbox key in case you have something delivered (we did). The pool was very clean and we used it several times as the temps were over 100. The AC worked great. The kitchen is well appointed and has spices, oil sugar etc. available. There is a binder inside with lots of information including trash and recycle pickup. Would definitely stay again

Scottsdlale gem

We came to stay for a horse sow at Westworld. The location was perfect, close to the venue and shopping was easy. Our dogs enjoyed the backyard. The kitchen was well stocked, there was coffee for the keurig and coffee beans for the coffee pot (I never looked to see if there was a bean grinder as I brought my own coffee). We couldn't open the front door and declined Heidi's offer to fix it right away as we used the garage and the opener provided. We couldn't get the living room TV to work but both bedroom tvs worked great. We don't watch much tv anyway. The kitchen was pretty well stocked, salt and pepper, some spices, trash bags and dishwasher pods, cookware, a crockpot etc (no fry pan). Two keys were provided which was a plus and they work the back doors too. There was info on trash and recycling pick up so we didn't have to mimic neighbors. Have booked or fall horse show!

A Delightful Month

This was my very first attempt @ renting a house for any length of time & I am glad I chose this one! Villa Lamar is a "charming cottage". Heidi has added her special decorative touches to every comfortable room. This 2 bedroom/2 bath home has all the conveniences (we never even ran out of hot water in the showers after climbing Camelback Mountain!). The French doors that open up to the patio make the house feel open & airy. The location makes exploring easy, near freeways, shopping, hiking, parks & even ballparks. We were still discovering things to do & places to go @ the end of our stay. Truly a gem!

Very comfortable home in a great location, close to highways, restaurants and shopping.

My wife and I and our 2 dogs spent 2 weeks in Heidi’s home in North Scottsdale. The home was a older home but was in great shape with very comfortable furniture and beds. We really enjoyed the back yard with the pool and grassy area where the dogs could exercise a bit. Laying by the pool in the AZ sunshine was so relaxing! The neighborhood was very quiet and safe. We had a small issue with the thermostat initially but Heidi corrected it immediately. All in all, a very good place to relax and feel “at home away from home”. Bob Warwick

Home away from home!

We stayed at Villa Lamar for 2 months during our home remodel. It was perfect for our family of 3 + 2 dogs. Beautiful pool, though we did not use it, we enjoyed spending time outside. The house is well equipped with everything you need and in a nice quiet neighborhood. Garage parking definitely a plus!! It is very nicely decorated and has plenty of extra linens! Heidi was such a pleasure to work with and checked in on us often to make sure all was good. I would highly recommend this home to anyone traveling to Scottsdale!

Great place!

The house is located with easy access to Hwy 101 which makes it very easy to navigate. Owner is very responsive! Had a minor problem that could have waited until we left but fixed that night. I took my parents (85 & 87) the floor plan was great with 2 separate bedroom areas. Doors to the pool from both bedrooms and the living area. Very comfortable accommodations. Would return!

As the retired owner of Scottsdale's largest freestanding resort-style spa, customer service is my passion. One day, one of our seasonal spa guests said they were having trouble finding an affordable furnished home for their Scottsdale visits. They needed a home, without stairs, that would allow their beloved, well behaved family dog. They didn't want a noisy condo or a shared pool. In short, they wanted a private home at a condo price. I realized, they were describing my own house, and since I wanted to move to a larger home anyway, I decided to move and rent them mine. It was one of the best decisions I ever made. I have made some really great friends, including many guests who return each year!

In a word, value and location. Okay, that was two words! We looked at tons of places and, I thought the only way I could afford vaulted ceilings, granite counters, travertine floors, a mountain view, a two car garage and a pool was in a condo, but I had gotten used to the privacy of a single family home. I didn't want to listen to neighbors fighting and kids screaming in the pool! I was a little concerned with how close the house was to the 101 but as soon as I shut the doors, I forgot all about the freeway! The double pane windows keep it quiet and cool and the extra tall wall makes the yard and pool extra quiet. Arizona was the first place to use a 1 inch layer of rubber on the freeways to make them quieter and it really works! http://asa.scitation.org/doi/10.1121/1.4780322

I got everything on my wish list and I didn't have to pay thousands a year in HOA dues! Over the years, I completed upgrades like replacing the carpets, with stone floors, resurfacing the pool with pebble tec, putting in a new turf lawn, new roof, new double pane windows and AC with air scrubbers until the home was just right. Now renters love the same things I did about the home: It has all the benefits of a freestanding home for the price of a condo. And without condo fees, I can pass the savings along to the guests. Judging by the number of return guests each year, Loop 101 is actually a pretty good neighbor!
