We had a lovely stay! Spacious, super clean, well stocked kitchen, games, linens etc.. everything we could have ever need to just relax and spend worry free time with family in an incredibly beautiful space. The sauna was great and being able to cold plunge right into Lake Superior might just be a new forever core memory for my whole family. I can’t say enough great things. We loved our stay and are so thankful to the owner/hosts for sharing this space. It was just what our family needed to recharge, reconnect and just enjoy the beauty and peace of the north shore.

Such a great place! Very clean, very well equipped, and so very comfortable! The perfect distance from the Lake and a frequently empty public beach. Far enough away not to be bothered on busy beach days, but easily accessible when other beach goers leave: like having a very large private beach most of the time we were there! Great restaurants nearby, and easily reached biking and hiking trails. This our 3rd stay here and we'll be back!

We were very impressed. Great spaces for 8, every kitchen gadget, fantastic location. Loved using the sauna then running into Superior. Very clean, responsive hosts.

Great getaway location and place

We loved our stay at the Schroeder cabin! It was the perfect location to relax on the North Shore and for short trips to Lutsen, Grand Marais and Tettegouche State Park. So much to do right around the corner too (Temperance River/State Park, Cross River, Sugarloaf Cove). We loved the Sauna and the close distance to the beach and rocks. The house had everything we wanted and more.

Wonderful stay

Very good property on the lake

This property is as advertised - has a great view and amenities, and was quiet. A very nice deck was great for stargazing and the sauna was a nice extra.

Anniversary Celebration

This beautiful home was the perfect location for our 40th anniversary gathering. It has easy access to a stretch of Lake Superior shoreline. We enjoyed local hiking, biking, and all the North Shore offers. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking and serving, and we had helpful and easy communication with our host.

Slice of Heaven

We arrived and everything was perfect. Lawn mowed, house clean and well stocked. We enjoyed the easy walk to the beach multiple times. The shore is so peaceful and with the rocks on the side the kids climbed the rocks, skipped stones and played in the water. So many things close by Temperance River, Grand Marias and many other areas to hike etc.

Wonderful!

Everything was perfect and was exactly as stated on the listing. I would even say the listing doesn’t do it justice! It was the cleanest rental we’ve ever stayed in and the beds were comfortable. It felt like home away from home. It was so nice having the beach just behind the house with our three year old and five year old to just go throw rocks into the water. The location is amazing for hikes. We loved it!

Love North Shore in the fall

This is our 3rd year staying here and can't wait to come back next year. Our fallcation is a favorite vacation of the summer/fall season. Beautiful area, perfectly located house with amazing views. We come every year to enjoy the fall weather, nature and catch our limit with Tofte Charters.

Great Getaway!

We enjoyed our time at this beautiful property! We hiked, toured and relaxed. The cabin had way more to offer than we thought. From laundry to plenty of deck chairs. Gas grill and plenty of kitchen supplies. Great breeze from the lake with the windows open. The sauna was a great time while it rained too. A very short walk to the beach and river. Although the mosquitos were too bad at night and it rained in the evening. The coffee on the deck while listening to the waves and loons in the mornings was perfect! We did different stops from Duluth to Grand Marais while we were here. Sven and Oles is a yummy pizza place and OMC was a great dinner out too! We saw a ship leave Duluth, enjoyed waterfalls at Temperance, Hiking Cascade River and Tetteguchee, Split Rock Lighthouse, breakfast at Betty’s and much more!

This home is ideally located for exploring the natural beauty of the area. Not only is it perched right on Lake Superior, but is so close to raging rivers, amazing hiking trails, the Gitchi-Gami bike trail, downhill and cross-country skiing, snow-mobile trails, golfing, fishing and paddling. And when you aren't enjoying the outdoors, the house is well-equipped and comfy, with a huge wood-burning sauna and large fire pit.
