Nightmare on Harris Street

Property is cute and decent enough space for 2. From day 1 we were subjected to constant excavation noise from a Sydney Metro tunnel directly below us, starting at 7:30am until 6:00pm for 6 of the 7 day stay. No way would I have booked this property if I had been informed of these works by the property managers. To say we were disappointed would be a gross understatement.

Trapped! Noisy!

We had a pin pad and code to get into the property. That was all that was provided. Day 2, the people upstairs went out and locked the door with a key. We went out of our apartment, the door to our apartment shut behind us and the front exit door was locked. We were trapped in the air lock with no way out. Very frightening and dangerous had there been a fire. Eventually one of the the upstairs tenants came back and unlocked the front door and let us out. We had tried to call the property manager to help but there was no answer. When I reported this to them, they denied there were any keys issued to any tenants. In short, we were lying. They said it was not possible. Clearly they have no understanding of the property they let. They were very dismissive of this very serious issue. Clearly a breach of fire safety laws. Also, the property is very poorly sound proofed and all night we could hear the people clomping around in their shoes upstairs and scraping chairs etc. If you want some peace and quiet, this is not the property for you. The property managers are very poor communicators so if you have an issue, don't worry about reporting it to them. You will be dismissed out of hand as we were.
