The accomodation was even more lovely than the photos. It feels very fancy, yet homely! The space is bright and sun-filled, with a beautiful private garden. It’s a lovely place to stay in to cook, drink, read, hangout with and relax in the garden area. The location was speculated and private. We saw a bandicoot one night in the yard at night.

We had a great stay at the property for our 10 year wedding anniversary. Alex was a great host, and the property was really well appointed and very private. We loved the peaceful location, wandered down to the wharf at the end of the street for a drink and snack at sunset, and an easy and beautiful walk in to Bundeena for coffee.

So relaxing!

We were at the end of a six month adventure and wanted our last two nights to be relaxing. The Garden Studio did not disappoint!The location near the National Park was perfect being serenaded by the birds.The studio had ALL the amenities you could wish for. We look forward to staying here again.

Beautiful garden oasis

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Garden Studio. Even though there are houses around you really feel like you're in your own oasis. Beautiful apartment, with everything you need for a trip away. Alex is a wonderful host, very thoughtful and responded quickly to my queries prior to arrival. Highly recommend this apartment — we will definitely be returning.

Peaceful Retreat

My husband and I spent 3 days at the Garden Studio, Maianbar to celebrate our wedding anniversary.The accommodation is spacious, well appointed, clean, peaceful and very private. Only a 10 minute drive from Bundeena, a great place to stay while we explored the sights in the Royal National Park. Our host Alex was very helpful and thank you Alex for the wonderful homemade bread. Highly recommended place to stay when visiting the area.

Peaceful and Beautiful Garden

Best Studio in the Royal National Park

We had an amazing stay at Alex! The Studio is very private, with garden views, a lot of natural light and Alex's attention to details made our stay the best weekend away. Everything is brand new, beautiful and well thought of... the bathroom poducts were great too! The location is perfect, quiet and close to the walks and surf beaches. Highly recommended!!

I’m a Certified Forest Therapy Guide, leading mindful nature walks in the beautiful Royal National Park, Dharawal Country, and Gadigal Country, Sydney. As a guide, I help participants rediscover their connection with nature—a connection many of us yearn for but have lost in our busy, urban lives. For me, nature is a source of vitality, grounding, and fulfilment, and I believe it can bring profound benefits to our health and well-being. My mission is to offer others the chance to reconnect with the natural world, whether through an immersive experience lasting a few days or a peaceful walk for a few hours.

This location is an excellent base for accessing local activities such as, swimming kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing and all water sports (5-minute walk away). Other local activities include bush walks, cycling, mountain biking trails, and observing local birds and native wildlife.

Nearby beaches such as Maianbar spit (10-minute walk from Garden Studio), Bonnievale, Hordern’s, Jibbon, and Wattamolla offer many opportunities for swimming, and the local surf break is nearby at Cronulla (40 min drive).

There is a full supermarket, bottle store, local clubs, cafés and takeaways in nearby Bundeena (10 min drive, 40 min walk). Please be aware Uber Eats and other food delivery companies often do not provide service to Maianbar.

Surrounding attractions in the Royal National Park include the cliff top walks, Eagle Rock, Wedding Cake Rock, and Figure 8 rock pools, Audley Picnic Grounds, Guided Forest Therapy Walks, Whale Watching, Bird Watching, Aboriginal Rock Engravings and the local Art Trail

Other local attractions include, Symbion Wildlife Park, Ferry to Cronulla, Hang Gliding at Otford, Port Hacking River Cruises.

This is a perfect getaway retreat. It offers the best of beach and bush for you to take time out to unwind, explore, and enjoy the beautiful, pristine, natural environment.
