Hayward Area - Peaceful Northwoods Cabin at Grindstone Lake

This is a non waterfront rustic little cabin nestled in trees offering filtered views of Grindstone Lake from the back deck. Located just a mile from the public beach/park on W Poplar (a very easy and enjoyable walk) or about 3 miles away from the public boat launch, you'll be able to enjoy your days on the water and evenings in this cozy little cabin. It is a two bedroom/one bath with a pull out sofa bed, so you can sleep 6 comfortably. The kitchen is small but well appointed with a Whirlpool Gas range and counter top microwave - sorry, no dishwasher.
This cabin has been in our family for years and has always provided great memories - we know it'll do the same for you. Whether you are Fisherman looking for your own family getaway or attending a family reunion in need of overflow accommodations, this cabin will provide you with everything you need to have a relaxing and comfortable stay in the Great Northwoods at Grindstone Lake.

Side-by-side adventure!!

We came up to Hayward for a side-by-side adventure and stumbled upon this little gem! A cute little cabin full of charm and character. The little notes were a favorite for sure! Great location, close to trails, the lake and downtown Hayward! The lake was so clean and perfect for our younger children. We can't wait to go back!!

Rustic and peaceful

The cabin is an older rustic family cabin. Very well decorated and clean. Appliances are old, but work perfectly. Nice deck overlooking the lake. Back yard is over grown which was just fine with us. Owner was very responsive and kind. Our 7 day stay was wonderful and greatly appreciated.

Great Stay

We booked this property for our emplyees to stay at that was close by to their job site. They had nothing but nice things to say about their stay and look forward to our next job near here to book again.

Up North Getaway

We really liked the property. It had a comforting smell of my Grandma’s house. The screened in porch was a plus. We wish the property would have had a fire pit. Everything was clean and orderly. The lack of lake front access was kind of a bummer, and the public beach access was further than we would have liked. But, we kind of knew that going in…. On that note, the public beach has a very cool feature of an enormously long sand bar that stretches way out. Found that on our last night there or else we probably would have hung out there a bit more.

Great location for trail riding

Perfect place to stay if you just need a place to sleep, eat, and ride the trails. Doesn't have cable or internet, but it didn't bother us.

Very peaceful!

Very nice property. The perfect distance from Hayward as it wasn’t to far away if you needed something, but still far away so you didn’t have the hustle and bustle of Hayward. The back porch was wonderful. Very peaceful place to stay.

Good stay, just what we needed

Very clean property! Owners made the check in process super easy which was helpful since we arrived quite late. Had everything we needed. We were a little surprised by how many other cabins were around us but it was really pretty quiet. Only one thing we would want differently was to have two queen or king beds instead of one and then two smaller beds in the other room. Otherwise, was great value and would come again.

Cozy, clean cabin!

This cabin is super cute, cozy and clean. Comfy king size bed in one room, double and single bed in the other. Plenty of cozy linens. Loved the screened in porch, and the kitchen was well stocked with cooking supplies. The location is rural and quiet, and only a mile walk to a public boat launch and swimming area. We were sad we could not see the lake due to dense trees in the backyard. Overall, very nice place to stay!

Great little cabin

It was a great little cabin with a 3 season porch that was a nice way to enjoy the cool night air without the bugs. The beds were very comfortable and we enjoyed all of the little art pieces throughout the cabin. If you are looking for an adult getaway with some friends I would recommend this place, but if you are traveling with young kids I would probably look for something else, because they might get a little bored.

Wonderful weekend!

We stayed here for our daughter's wedding in September. It was a beautiful weekend and everything was great. The cabin was perfect and had everything we needed. It was easy to find and in a great location. We never did find a dock to get down to the water so that would be our only complaint. We enjoyed a couple of meals at nearby restaurants and also enjoyed walking around the stores in Hayward. We would definitely recommend this cabin to others.

Perfect place for a family vacation!

Peaceful. It felt like home.

Our family enjoyed our vacation.The cabin was away from busy roads and we enjoyed listening to the nature sounds and riding bikes on quiet roads in the evening. The owner was prompt in answering our questions as we prepared for our trip. Cabin was clean and it felt like home. I would recommend this listing. We enjoyed paddle boarding, kayaking, and fishing in nearby Hayward and attended the Lumberjack Championships. We loved the Southern BBQ restaurant. The community had a small town feel, but had plenty of things to do.
