This house sits above the sand with a lovely view, but to access the sand you must walk to the end of the street and around a busy corner. The beach is gorgeous, uncrowded, and bordered by a large lagoon. You must hike around the lagoon to get to the waves through a narrow passage between the lagoon and the sand (which is not easy since you are crawling over rocks).
Getting to the ocean is not as easy as it looks in the picture.
About that 4th bedroom: it is a small room off of another bedroom, which would have been fine except.... the queen bed took up the entire room, and sat elevated so high that it required stairs. Completely not suitable for kids who could easily be injured if they fell off.
We improvised by having the adults sleep in that little room with the skyscraper bed, and let the kids have the bigger bedroom, but why have a skyscraper bed in the first place?
Then there is the downstairs (master?) bedroom....the "mattress" was folded over foam pads on top of a mattress pad that had another encased foam pad. If the idea is a foam mattress it didn't work. It felt like sleeping on a giant marshmallow. The only entrance to the back yard was through that bedroom so there is traffic that flows through the room. There was no dresser and no closet because the owners had barricaded the closet with a TV set up. The wall for a dresser had a large closed off closet which I believe was a movie viewing screen of some sort. Was I sleeping in a media room that was haphazardly converted to a bedroom for the rental? Felt that way....
Every inch of the kitchen was full of the owner's own food, appliances, and gadgets. (except fridge, which was empty). There was quite literally no cabinet space, no counter space, and no drawers left for us to place any of our own food.
The dining room table seats 4 people. That's it. So we could never sit down together to eat, which was a big disappointment for me.
Lastly, the rental contract with multiple threats and over the top warnings made every adult cringe. So unwelcoming and harsh. We don't want to be threatened with penalties, police, and large fines. We know how to behave at a vacation rental, and we own one ourselves.
Tara, as always, is great to work with. The house was clean. The location is great. But multiple changes need to be made for vacationers to have a pleasant experience with this house. Or the owners just need to admit they don't want rentals.
