We had a wonderful spring break at Aris-Key with a family of 5. Wish I could give 4 1/2 stars. Just a few smaller picky things kept it from a 5, but we would definitely go back!
The house is in a gated community that is very clean and has a restaurant and a small marina just a short walk away. There is a work-out area and tennis courts up at by the entrance that we never visited. The restaurant good, but not fantastic. Like everything on the island, it is a little expensive for what you get (especially the drinks).
The house had three bedrooms upstairs and plenty of room downstairs. We loved the balcony off the back bedrooms! The master bathroom shower was very small with a shorter shower head, which makes it tight for a larger/taller person. The dishwasher in the kitchen pulled out from the wall if you pulled on the door much when opening, and the washing machine stopped mid-cycle and had to be restarted, but seemed to clean the clothes well when it finished. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and cooking supplies etc. There was some coffee, tea, sugar, spices, oils supplied. Highly recommend packing as much food to bring as you can. The local grocery store is fine, but small and expensive.
Outside it has it's own deck with lounge chairs and stairs to the water. There is not beach area directly on the property, but you can easily swim and snorkel right off the back. There is a small community pool three doors down, as well as a larger pool and beach at the club house.
We set up several outings through the house manager, Kierra. She is very helpful and friendly. The all-day Staniel Cay private tour with Jerry Lewless was a great memory maker. He was Very knowledgable about the area and took us too so many unique and beautiful spots throughout the islands. Bring lots of sunscreen for the day. We also went on a half-day fishing trip with AJ from Antonio Johnson crew. We caught a great variety, and so many fish in a few hours that we couldn't keep them all. We recommend doing this early in your vacation, because it will provide enough for several nights of dinner. Highly recommend eating a local dinner at the the Fish Fry, especially at Shirley's!
For our transportation we used Luther Rolle. He was always very nice and accommodating. However, we wished we would have just rented a car and had more freedom.
