House house is old but comfortable. The yard is safely fenced for our dogs.

Worst experience for my family and I, evacuated property as not fit to stay, sleepless and restless.

I stayed at the property with my guests and they were really not happy. The property was not clean, there were bugs crawling through doors, windows and wall gaps. Most of the night my guest stayed up the night to inspect that no bugs would crawl into the bed. We found a bugs in 1 of the beds, so we decided not to use 1 room. we had to remove beddings from beds to confirm there were no bugs. We had to use the insect spray in the kitchen cupboard, since we had to keep spraying the property was stinking of the fumes since we were too scared to open windows or doors since our arrival. Luckly we found candles in the draws to help reduce the smell but this isn't a holiday I expected. Women guests were paranoid all night and didnt sleep by arming themselves with bug spray, little baby was sensitive to spray fumes. My guests and I want to leave the property urgently but no other hotels near by had vaccancy. We have photos of the bugs to show and want our money back. We left the property in the morning and we called Phil who was showing empathy towards us but We had to leave to find another hotel, luckly we found another apartment. The new apartment was way more presentable, cleaner and bug free. Your property's first impression from my family and I was that the front entry fascia was hopelessly dirty with bugs and cobwebs.

We are sorry that Kamberra was a disappointment to your group. This property was inspected in the morning prior to arrival & was sparkly clean & dust free. This cute historical island cottage, sits nestled amongst tea trees in the bush - due to extreme conditions with drought, fires & recent rains last week the bugs must have come out from hibernation. They may have been attracted by leaving a light on. This is typical for a bush property. We have rented this property for many years & for the budget price range have had very high customer satisfaction. Phil did offer to come over and externally surface spray to stop any unwanted bugs - however you declined his offer. Please let us know next time you are in the area and we would be happy to give you a discount on one of our premium properties out of the bush area.

Inadequate & Overpriced

The garden is poorly maintained. While the occupier instructions given require that any pet excrement be removed immediately & disposed of, this did not occur with previous renters. The lawns had not been mowed for at least 4 weeks before our arrival. There was no evidence of pruning, weeding, flower bed maintenance. The interior of Kambera house is very dated. The bathroom door latch & lock system is installed incorrectly, two of the internal doors are so badly swollen (probably moisture induced) that they are almost impossible to close without using force. The property rental price is excessive considering the inadequacies above. We will avoid this rental agent system in the future.

Quiet peaceful house

It is nopt far from the ferry. We enjoyed sitting on the front verandah listening to the birds. The yard was well fenced for our dogs. The staff at Gippsland Lakes Escapes were very helpful when I wanted to extend our stay by a day.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: A lovely, well equipped clean little house that was let down by lack of attention from the property managers. When we arrived there was no power and no directions for turning it on. After searching throughout the house we found the fuse box and were able to flick all of the switches, but only half the power came on. This required a number of phone calls to the out-of-hours contact who was very responsive and eventually helped us to get all of the power on. I expected that the power would have been turned on in advance of our visit. There was a lot of 'propaganda' about the generous welcome basket of tea and coffee etc, but there was nothing provided. This was a disappointment, as there are no shops on the island.

A beautiful escape in a unique environment

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We absolutely loved our time on Raymond Island and visiting the surrounding cute towns. The Island has such a variety of environments for such a small place and seeing koalas and kangaroos everywhere was a delight. The house was cosy and had everything you could possibly need. Our dog loved staying too. The ferry is a quick trip and comes often. It was a very relaxing and different trip to our usual. One thing to remember is mosquito repellant. They are everywhere but wont bother you with bug spray on. Loved it.

The welcome pack with milk, bread and other essentials was a nice touch, and booking and after hours key pick up was simple and easy. Gippsland Lakes Escapes were prompt with their communication and very helpful with questions during booking. We are glad to have found this company as we are regular visitors to Paynesville and have booked to stay in another of their properties at Christmas (we would have been happy to stay at Kambera House again but we needed a property slightly closer to family living in the area).
