Life-long skiers and sailors, we split our time between Michigan and our home in Snowmass. Marc first skied in Aspen with his parents in the 1960's and has returned in both summer and winter every year since. Over the years, both of our families have fallen in love with the mountains in central Colorado and most of the Hollerbachs now reside in the area. Being able to "come home" to Aspen is the culmination of a life-long dream.

We enjoy entertaining our friends and family, however we also highly value our privacy. Our time in Aspen is very personal so we chose this property to enhance that experience. While the house is in the Horse Ranch neighborhood, once you are inside, the feeling is that you are in your own valley. Falling away from the front is a large horse pasture occupied by a herd of 20 horses throughout the summer. The property rises up a ridge to the right and the house nestles under the ridge. The neighboring house to the left is set back and quite a bit lower down and is virtually invisible. With access to all of Aspen/Snowmass amenities, your time here can be as quiet or as fun as you choose to make it.

Karen decorates our homes with an exquisite attention to detail; from the artwork and crystal chandeliers to the long-stem wine glasses. With much of our family living in the Aspen Valley area, we often entertain family and friends. So we designed the layout of the main floor to allow large groups to mingle and socialize. Our renovation focused on retaining the original rustic feel while updating the living spaces and appliances. The kitchen, dining area and great room share a single space under vaulted ceilings. The centerpiece of the kitchen is the 11' granite island with the cook-top. Everyone can be in the kitchen and to cook is part of the fun.
