This is my third property rental in 6 years in the Pacific Grove area and the most disappointing - it was just fair. Awesome location in a house that set back from the main road. Quiet with a great view of the Pacific Ocean and a walking path along its rocky shore. There were many reviews that mentioned a "film" on the windows but I think that is a normal occurrence to living on the waterfront and was not that big of a deal. When we arrived, the property was very stuffy and needed to be aired out. Open the front door and the back doors, the breeze will clear out the stuffiness, but there are no screens on the doors. Some of the windows appeared to be painted shut in the bedrooms so opening them for air was not an option. If you are excepting the bunk beds like the photos suggest, you will be disappointed. The beds were comfortable and bathrooms appear to have been updated. That said, the kitchen was a very different story. The kitchen cabinets and countertops are worn and dated. Stove is in need of an upgrade, fridge was dented on the front. There were ant traps on the kitchen counters and spider webs in the bedrooms. The back patio was tired and no real landscaping in the back yard. Not a place to sit and relax. There was a light switch on the back patio without a switch cover exposing wires. A nice coat of paint on the inside and exterior would go a long way with this property. What few questions I had prior to arrival were quickly answered by the host.
