Wonderful vacation

This property was terrific for my husband and I and our adult daughter with friends. Location was great - beautiful view, peaceful surroundings, and wonderful visits from the cockatoos. Kitchen was well-equipped for cooking meals, shuttle pick up was nearby which was great because we couldn't put 5 people on the buggy, and Luxury Holidays were fantastic hosts. They were very responsive to any of our questions and requests. We loved our visit to Hamilton Island!

Very happy with the property

The property is great. Plenty of room, good facilities, the pool is nice and the location it great. The checkout process not so good. Paperwork and verbal instructions were check out and pick up at 11:00am. A text message on the last night advised that checkout was an hour earlier at 10:00am due to a late booking. As we'd made arrangements for that morning that couldn't be changed, we couldn't do this. A text message war ensued (as he wouldn't answer his phone) with me being threatened with extra charges should I not comply. I even sent a photo of the paperwork that stated 11:00am checkout. Bad luck, things change, don't care about your paperwork, we have a late booking so get out or we'll debit your credit card. Disgraceful, unlawful and totally unacceptable. Please don't let this put you off staying at what is a great property. I'm sure it's a one-off, and we'd happily return.

Dear James We are very glad you enjoyed the property and your time on Hamilton Island and would love to have you return. Whilst we always try to give late check outs, when a last minute booking is made, meaning a family arrives same day as you depart, a 10am check out is needed sorry. The wording you used to describe communication with valet was not however accurate. They were not rude, and they often get compliments on their friendliness. Here is the exact wording as per the texts between yourself and valet. I note as all your things were still at the property at 10.30am when cleaners arrived and you were out with the buggy they then waited till you returned and you packed up. You were then taken to the airport at 11am. It just made it difficult to prepare for next family but we understand and all is good. TEXT FROM YOU TO VALET THE DAY PRIOR TO CHECK OUT: Paperwork says checkout and pickup is 11:00. We'll be ready at 11:00 as we made plans sometime ago according to the paperwork. RESPONSE FROM VALET TO YOU: Unfortunately a new booking is arriving at 10.30 am tomorrow morning, so an 11.00 am checkout is no longer available We will be bringing the new guest to the apartment at 10.30 am, to exchange the buggy and keys and then transferring you to the airport. YOU TO VALET: Sorry but we've abided by the times that you put in your paperwork that you gave us, and these times were repeated to us verbally and made very clear to us when we checked in As I said, we've made plans accordingly. VALET: I'm really sorry but your final departure details were provided to you earlier. Failure to comply could result in charges being applied. Please contact your booking agent to discuss. My apologies James we are sorry if valet mentioned on arrival that 11am check out should be fine and we then had a last minute booking made to arrive on your departure date. They should have made it clear that depending on last minute bookings late check out requests can't be made. My reason for leaving this response showing actual wording between yourself and valet manager is to show that our valet team are not rude. As per texts the conversation was polite. We hope to assist you again in future.

Good family space

The property was well-presented and having three separate rooms and two bathrooms was ideal for 6 adults. Having the use of a buggy was fantastic, especially as the property was on the harbour side of the island. Its location to one of the bus stops was also ideal. Good location for those who like to watch the planes take off and land. The only negative would be the furniture, in particular the dining chairs - well used and not comfortable.

Nice Property but tired!

Property is in a lovely location, and the kitchen is well equipped. However the beds are well past their use by date, very uncomfortable. Likewise the interior of fridge, broken shelves etc. Overall it is a good property but everything is a bit tired!

Hi Deborah, we are glad you had a great time and enjoyed the property and location. We have not had any comments regarding the beds and they are not very old. We will bring this up with the owner who stays every few months. We will replace the fridge shelve with the crack in it, sorry about that. We look forward to having you stay again.

Lovely spot for a break

Amazing house in an amazing location, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The only thing we have to complain about is the paperwork they ask you to do before arrival is astronomical and they still got our arrival and departure times wrong (nothing to do with home owner). Also we were called on our second last day and told we had to leave the island that day due to Covid-19 as an interstate traveller with flights booked on 2 different airlines to get home it definitely put a dampener on our last day (again nothing to do with home owner)

Great property!

We enjoyed our stay, the property was as advertised and in really good condition. The one negative was that the cable TV needed to be reset every day, a complaint I noted was raised previously, but is obviously yet to be addressed,

Relaxing tropical family holiday

Our three generation family loved the relaxed feel and clean spacious rooms of Heliconia One. The meet and greet service and buggy was particularly appreciated by two older members of our group suffering from long haul jetlag! We thoroughly recommend this comfortable clean house which is close to the Marina and Yacht club. We were especially impressed by the housekeeping who immediately supplied two missing beach towels on request. Two small niggles were the Foxtel which needed retuning everyday and took an hour to do, and the lack of wifi. Overall a beautifully clean and comfortable holiday house.

Excllent property

The property ticked all the boxes for a family of 4. Living and outdoor spaces were great and the views over the yacht club and Dent Island, filtered by the trees, were lovely. Great position with a short buggy ride down the hill to the shops and restaurants. Highly recommended!

Heliconia One - absolutely loved it!

Loved our stay at Heliconia One. Perfect location and views and a very comfortable holiday house. The king size bed was so comfy we wished we could take it with us! Maintenance was amazing especially when the music player didn't work. They brought over one of their personal music players for us to borrow for the duration of our stay. That was very kind of them and we were very appreciative. Overall I would highly recommend!

Great Location on Hamilton Island

A very spacious 3 level townhouse, well equipped, air conditioned and close to all amenities, with lovely views. There were 5 of us but you could easily have up to 7 people quite comfortably.
